Subject: Modified Work Schedule: June 9th through July 25th, 2014

CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES Effective June 9, 2014, through July 25, 2014,

the District and the California School Employees Association (CSEA)

have agreed to a summer pilot program affecting

most eight-hour employees assigned to a five-day work week

in a department physically located at the Education Center, Special Education office.

This also includes other eligible employees designated by the District, at other locations.

Please distribute copies

of the Memorandum of Understanding to classified employees in your department.

Subject: Minimum Day – Last Day of School

To: All Principals and Department Heads Date: May 8, 2014 No. 14528

Section 4.6 of the negotiated agreement between the Bakersfield City School District and the Bakersfield Elementary Teachers Association provides that the last day of school shall be a *minimum day for students, but a regular workday for unit members.

That is Thursday, May 29th, for 2014.

*This is a minimum day for students only. Employees are still required to work their duty hours.

Please note the following contract language regarding the last duty day for unit members, Friday, May 30th, 2014, which is not a minimum day:

“4.8 On the last day of duty for the school year unit members assigned to schools may leave after duties are completed

and they are checked out with the principal.”
