Under the guidance of H.E. Jamyang Dagmo Sakya, and Sakya Monastery,www.sakya.org, Tara Ling SB meets each month to study various topics in TibetanBuddhism, and have the opportunity to practice together in depth. Lama Dagmola is oneof Dr. Alan Wallace's senior root Tibetan teachers. We are presently studying The Three Levels of Spiritual Perception, with commentaryby Deshung Rinpoche, Lama Dagmola's revered uncle & root teacher. We are continuingour focus on Ultimate Bodhichitta, and specifically the practice of Insight or Vipashyana(pp 423-452), and we will also practice the sadhana of Manjushri, bodhisattva of wisdom. Saturday, March 2nd, we will be meeting at EMID*, Rancho Embarcadero,Goleta, from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Tea and light snacks will be provided. There is chairseating, and you are welcome to bring mats or cushions for practice. The class will be acombination of dharma discussion, guided meditations, and relevant Q & A. Upcomingdates for future classes are May 4, Jun 8, Jul 6, & Aug 3. The weekend of April 5-7 is aspecial retreat with Ven.Tenzin Priyadharshi at EMID--register at [email protected] Weekly meditation classes meet every Monday evening at Unity Church, 227 East Arrellaga, SB, from 7:00 - 8:20 p.m. to practice calm abiding or shamatha and insight practice or vipashyana. The combination of these two practices arefoundational to a Buddhist spiritual path, and are generally deeply beneficial practices forany genuine contemplative path.
