WebEx is changing in the latest release.

From 19th February WebEx will be upgraded to the latest version.

Cisco introduces several new features and enhancements and a brand new interface.

The following slides, detail a high level overview of those changes.

• Cleaner, Faster Join Experience – users can join meetings up to 30% faster

• If you try to join a meeting before it has started, the meeting page will now automatically refresh when it's time to join.

Joining a WebEx

• Simplified In-Meeting User Experience – new, modern look and a clean layout for improved user experience. Key upgrades include, but are not limited to:

• A new meeting window layout which allows users to change the proportion of content view and panels.

• There is an improved layout for the video view in the video panel. • Shared content will appear in a tab in the meeting window by default. • Easy-to-access annotation tools have been added in a new, vertical annotation bar with

updated icons. • New simplified sharing controls (see below).

In-Meeting enhancements

• Personal Room – all users now have their own personal room which delivers: • Your own easy-to-remember link that never changes, so colleagues will always know where

your meetings are held. Meet instantly and simplify back-to-back meetings by managing your attendees through a lobby.

• By default, WebEx will use the host's username as the Personal Room identifier. For example, https://sitename.webex.com/meet/username.

• Instant meetings users start with the Meet Now command held in their Personal Room by default.

• Hosts can customise:• The title of a Personal Room as it appears in WebEx applications and the lobby screen,

presented to users joining from video devices or applications, can be changed.• Users can change their Personal Room ID to better suit their needs. Changing the Personal

Room ID changes the web URL for desktop and mobile users.

Personal Room

• Change of Terminology for Common Functions: • The One-Click command has been renamed ‘Meet Now’. • ‘Share Desktop’ has been changed to ‘Share Screen’. • ‘Audio Conference’ has been changed to ‘Audio Connection’. •  • Content Viewing Enhancements – fit to width is now selected as the default view option

and attendees can easily pan, zoom in and zoom out on shared content with new layout and icons

• Video Enhancements – new video panel default settings, to view video and switch between layouts more easily

• Starting frame rate for thumbnails and active video has increased to 15 fps, in good bandwidth environments.

• In case of low bandwidth when video cannot be sent, the user receives a descriptive error message after 5 seconds to indicate their bandwidth or local computer issues may affect video display.

Other Features

• Multiple Monitor Support Enhancements – includes options to move video to another monitor or share to secondary monitors on Windows machines

• Screen Saver When Sharing – the screen saver is disabled for all participants during sharing

• Profile Page Enhancements – simplified accessibility and advanced image uploader• Anyone Can Share Feature – allows all participants to share content in the meeting without

manually passing the presenter role• HTML Email Templates – the Site Administration tool now provides email templates in

HTML format• Recurring Meeting Enhancements – users can now schedule recurring online meetings

via the WebEx website and modify to create exceptions without effecting future meetings within the series.

Other Features Continued

• Windows Version of WebEx Productivity Tools – users can now create exceptions to a recurring meeting series and to individual meetings within the meeting series

• A WebEx meeting can be updated or removed from a single occurrence of a recurring WebEx meeting.

• With the new ‘Add Personal Room’ button, available from the ‘Add WebEx button menu’, hosts can easily add Personal Room information into their email invitations and meeting calendar information.

• Official support for Windows 8.1, IE 11 and Windows 8 touchscreen.• Mac Version of WebEx Productivity Tools – the Mac version of WebEx Productivity Tools

has a full feature set to help you schedule and use WebEx with Microsoft Outlook on your Mac.
