In order for biz to stay ahead of the global trends, HJ attends a number of global conferences, meeting potential partners and checking out what might impact the region in 3-5 years. Three events have been attended this year.
• ISA Connection, Phoenix Arizona March 2015 – a network of Global Training companies, that meet to share experiences, complete benchmark studies and focus on global trends delivered by top speakers.
• ATD, Orlando May 2015 – HJ didn’t manage to attend the whole conference, but had the honor of speaking with our Multipliers Partners in the Netherlands VDS – they presented a white paper on proving Multipliers training had an 2X ROI in the Banking Industry.
• HR Summit, Singapore May 2015 – this is a regional HR conference, with local partners and international brands. HJ delivered a Multipliers keynote address and used the chance to check out the trends coming from the Asian region.

Profile of a bizzer Noel Joseph
His Native Genius Label reads The Specialist
Noel grew up the youngest of four kids and was labelled a chatterbox early on. He learned to increase his listening skills but some might say it is his need to be heard that resulted in him being where he is today. He studied psychology and sociology and his interests include eastern philosophy and team sport. Football is his passion and Noel says he plays as much as his body will allow. He also loves swimming with his step sons and hear this ladies – Noel loves to shop with the missus….yes a man who is happy to shop
Noel has two brothers and a sister, all living in England – his sister works at the Lord Mayors office in London, one brother makes speed boats and Noel’s middle brother had a number 1 hit record in England in the 90’s with a song called “Please Don’t Go”. Noel did a stint as Emirates crew for a few years before joining the Emirates Aviation College where he honed his training skills. He joined biz as Training Consultant in 2006, left in 2009 and returned again in 2011. He is described as co-designer extraordinaire and loves to challenge or get to the crux of the matter. Noel’s dominant shape is squiggle which makes his sociable and full of ideas….and a chatterbox. Noel loves to travel and after having finally visited China, his next goal is to see all the technology Japan has to offer.

Combining Strengths
Luke and Nicky Smith ran the first of the live Strikers programme for NBAD with great success. Combining their different talents of managing the room, entertainment, presenting tools and theories, getting participants to focus on activities, creating healthy competition and Go Team expertise to make the day a success. Wonderful to see 2 people who haven’t worked together before getting in sync so quickly – well done both! Back in the office, Shamna and Zeeba have been adjusting the programme following client feedback to polish and perfect the presentation and Go Team elements to make it work so much smoother – great example of combining strengths ladies. An interesting week with several of the management team getting an opportunity to work ‘on’ the business rather than ‘in’ the business. This is valuable time spent discussing mission-critical issues that will help us push the company forward. We had Barry’s “UVP’ (Unique Value Proposition) discussion from a marketing perspective that will help with brand position, the biz-group website and the office move. Alongside this Hazel, Bev, Matt J, and Andy attended a Verne Harnish seminar which provided some fascinating insights and learnings, some of which are being shared and actioned already. Finally the SMT (Senior Management Team) wrapped up the week with a monthly meeting to develop ideas from both these sessions.
Genuinely Care About Delivering Results
Nadeen delivered the first of the MOPA programmes this week and get fantastic reviews from the client who already asking for more dates. Well done for making this a success so quickly Nadeen. Noel has been working tirelessly with a key client, Senaat, who started as a difficult client who seemed not to be making the most of training. Over time he has managed to get them into the groove of learning and implementation with really great results at an individual level. Well done for your perseverance and your ability to convert them! Barbara completed training with a group from Dubai Petroleum after a challenging programme, helping them to stretch themselves beyond where they thought they could go. Well done for exercising your Challenger and your patience! Sandy helped HC to download and operate a new software to conduct a client call (not a software we want to use though – their choice!) and not only managed to do it flawlessly but impressed the client with his diligence during the process. I wouldn’t give her his number because I think she had her eye on headhunting him! Thank you Sandy, as ever, for making things work when it’s needed! Jhon did a final piece of crafting of the videos he made for NBAD to add a final surprise for them so that we could further delight the client. Thanks for responding and doing this so quickly Jhon – you are a star!
Genuinely Care About Delivering Results
Genuinely caring about delivering results was very evident at the recent Bridging the Divide event for Emirates Global Risk Management Team. Every bizzer on the team went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of the event delivered the results. Nicki Smith, Jen Mueller, Shari and Sarah Sparkes were all committed to the finished product that each team created. This was evident by the interest and dedication they took in each team. Nicole Caldwell kept a keen eye also to ensure the final completion of all bridges, this was welcomed warmly by all members of the Emirates Finance team. Feedback from the client afterwards confirmed my belief that everyone on our team genuinely cared about delivering results:
“I wasn’t sure how this was going to work but the event was amazing – far exceeded my expectations. I personally love
these type of team building events which get the audience thinking and from the comments I received from my colleagues, they all felt that they took something away from the exercise too. I think overall it met the objectives we
had sent initially so a job well done to you and your team.”
Nic designed and won our first Ramadan/Food-themed event this month with a 3rd party named Dunes for 7UP Saudi. The event incorporated table-top GO TEAM quiz questions around their brand, and ended in a cook-off between the teams to create a menu fit for a traditional Iftar for 1 person and a beautifully-designed table setting. We were all amazed with the feedback, and by how much fun the delegates had with the theme! A special Biz Energy shout-out to Julie for executing a seamless event with a tricky client, and Paddy who got stuck in with every team! Also for Believe Anything Is Possible a big thank you to Jen, Sabrina and Sam for their assistance on the day and having a great attitude towards a new concept!

Brett has brought J & J and their academy project to the closing stage after a lot of hoop jumping! It’s a big summer project and one that is well deserved. Fantastic follow through Brett and congratulations!
Laura has got back into the training room with a vengeance in May doing her highest number of billable hours this year with the help of her sticks but soldiering on and getting back into the groove. Great to have you out there Laura.
Rana worked every day in May whilst also getting two new clients on board with great reviews too whilst also studying for her VW accreditation. Well done Rana, you rock. I feel sure your husband has forgotten what you look like – do thank him for giving you up this month!
Believe Anything is Possible
The office relocation to IMPZ seems a bit like riding a roller coaster – it has ups and downs and a few sharp bends but the belief is that the biz family will be moving into their new home, fully equipped and furnished, maybe minus a pond or pod room but certainly containing the necessary elements plus a few nice to have’s. We trust Charmaine’s influencing and project management skills will get all the contractors on board in good time as we believe we will move at the end of the summer. Since attending the Learning and Development Conference in March this year, Nadia has shown great tenacity with a client she met at the event – Arasco; by staying in touch, understanding the client’s needs and Believing Anything is Possible, Nadia has finally closed a deal with this client, resulting in more training hours for T2 and T3.
Tell You What You Need to Hear
Well done to Cynthia, Nicky and Brett for taking feedback on board from the Du team for 3 of the levels of our largest roll out client. I know these meetings are difficult to prep for and tough to sit through – your focus and diligence and your spirit with the client are a real credit to you and ultimately to the wider team. Thank you
Supporting People’s Personal Growth
Matt W attended the Strategic and Conceptual Selling training programs in May, with a primary focus on improving his ability to manage increasingly complex Axonify solutions sales opportunities. On his return he has shown fantastic commitment and energy in Supporting Peoples Personal Growth by teaching that content back to the biz-ability Performance Solutions team, running two internal sessions so far and working on integrating the tools into biz-force.
