technology at the Transportation OperationsCenters (TOC), the Michigan Department ofTransportation (MDOT) offers first respond-
ers a valuable service:
Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) CCTV cameras expedite response time bypinpointing the exact location of an incident.
Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)Operators post messages to DMS informingmotorists of traffic incidents.
Communication HubOperators seamlessly connect first responders tocounty forces, construction crews and the public.
Mi Drive WebsiteCCTV, DMS, and real-time traffic flow, amongother data, are shown at: www.michigan.gov/drive.
Free WorkshopsTraffic control and lessons learned from pastincidents are presented in brief workshops.
Data WarehouseData tracked by MDOT can help future incidentmanagement coordination and performance.
