WHY DO CHRISTIANS DOUBT?1 John 5: 9-13
5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.

A. DENY the CHARACTER of Scripture!1 Jn 5: 9 if we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater!2 Tim 3: 16 All Scripture is inspired by God . . .
B. DOUBT the CLARITY of Scripture!1 John 5: 12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life!

C. DISOBEY the COMMANDS of Scripture!1 John 5: 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His
commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome!

**Some Christians have doubts because they can’t remember:
A. The AWARENESS of sinners GUILT!Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God

B. The APPLICATION of saving GRACE!Eph 2: 8 For by grace are you saved
C. The ACCEPTANCE of the substitutionary GIFT!

III. AN UNBLESSABLE VIEW OF SECURITY!
**Salvation is eternal because it has been:
A. PROMISED by the FATHER!Titus 1: 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God who cannot lie
promised long ages ago!
1) WHO made the PROMISE?1: 2 God, who cannot lie promised . . .
2) WHEN was the promise MADE?1: 2 God, who cannot lie promised, long ages ago!2 Thess 2: 13 But we should always give thanks to God . . . because God has chosen you from the beginning, for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the Truth!
WHY DO CHRISTIANS DOUBT?1 John 5: 9-13
B. PURCHASED by the SON!Eph 1: 7 In HIM, we have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace!
C. PROTECTED by the SPIRIT!Eph 1: 13 In HIM, you also, after listening to the message of Truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise!14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory!
