President’s Message

Page 2

Once again we met at a delicious hamburger joint – this time on the other side of town where we got to see some different faces. It was a pleasant evening and it was nice to talk to some of the other club members and get their ideas.

The Apple Valley show was revisited, as was the option of possibly meeting with a dealership in Forest Lake who has expressed interest in having a show. Other ideas included again some museum destinations, an upcoming auction, and an “old friend” collector who sounds much like the Veit Museum. We will look into some of these locations and try to coordinate dates to visit them as a Club either yet this Fall or possibly next Summer.

Thanks to all who attended the meeting and kept the conversation lively. We look forward to seeing some of you at Chula Vista, and others at the next club meeting.

Until then, drive safe!

Tony Miller, Tomahawk Chief

August Meeting Minutes8/15/17

We met at the Minnetonka Drive In. 12 members were present. We wele-comed Gary & Cheryl Madsen from Iowa-thanks for attending the meeting!

The July meeting minutes were read and accepted. Jim Notch gave a Trea-surer’s report and it was also accepted.

There will be no Valley Buick/GMC show this year. We will try for 2018. (There is a car show on Sept. 23rd at Whitaker Buick/GMC in Forest Lake - our club is invited- editor)

There is a huge GTO and GTO parts auction coming up in Hutchinson on Sept 30th. Our next meeting will be Sept. 19th at Norm’s Tires in Roseville.

Meanwhile... Back at the “Pontiac Ranch”

My ‘69 GTO Judge convertible is back on the road with a rebuilt RAIII engine, lots of replace-ment parts and new tires also.

Thanks to Tom VanKempen for his help this summer with my “to-do” list. If you need work on your Pontiac, I highly rec-ommend Tom, he does excellent work.

Next issue... we’ll have a report on the “Pontiac Adventures” in the Wisc. Dells.

Keep those Ponchos smokin’! Paul Bergstrom, Tomatalk Editor

From Tim Dye: Diaz Sign Art here in Pontiac, IL has completed the restoration of the Chief Pontiac statue that was donated to the mu-seum. As usual they did an amaz-ing job. As one of the main goals of the museum is to preserve Pon-tiac history it makes us feel very good to complete a project like this. The restoration was funded by donations. A major contributor was the Midwest Firebirds Club. A big thank you to them for helping out.
