Dear Parishioners,
Next Sunday, January 12th, 2020 is Subscrip on Sunday for the St. Louis Review – the newspaper of our Arch-diocese.
The St. Louis Review is an award-winning faith publica on. For the past four years, the St. Louis Review has been recognized for excellence in telling faith stories through photojournalism, repor ng, graphics and de-sign. The editorial staff, photojournalists and reporters are recognized for telling the stories of our faith as it is lived in our parishes and faith communi es. One of our own parishioners, Jennifer Brinker, serves on the edi-torial staff at the Review.
The stories and news from the St. Louis Review demonstrate faith lived in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and beyond.
In this month’s packet of contribu on envelopes, there is a reminder envelope for your annual subscrip on to the Review. If you are a current subscriber, please consider a parish contribu on of $35.
For those who have not yet had the me to renew your subscrip on, there is plenty of me. We have infor-ma on in the ves bule of our church about renewing your subscrip on. You may also renew electronically through Faith Direct or you may simply use the envelope included in your packet of contribu on envelopes. If you would like to receive the St. Louis Review, but find the cost a hardship, we will gladly provide it for you. Please no fy us at the rectory office, 636-227-7440, extension 100 if we can be of assistance.

A er Jesus was bap zed, he saw the Spirit of God descend-ing like a dove and a voice was heard “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” As we give to the poor, we also can hear these same words. Have you considered joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that you can live your Bap sm more fully? If you are in need of help or know someone in need, please call (314) 289-6101, mailbox 2265. Leave a message and one of the volunteers will return your call. If you would like to support the work of St. Vincent de Paul, please make your check payable to St. Vincent de Paul Society and drop it in the collec on basket. Thank you for your support!
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17) Two thoughts come to mind when reading this. First, God, Our Father, is so generous, that he gave his only son, whom he really loves, to us so that we can have eternal life with him in heaven. God, Our Creator, really loves us, too! Second, Jesus was obedient to his Father’s will, even to the point of death. This is a reminder that our own lives are pure gifts from God and meant to serve God and others.
