40 Days for Life IF NOT US, WHO? IF NOT NOW, WHEN? You’re invited to join other Christians for 40 Days for Life – forty days of prayer and fasting, from March 6 through April 14, for an end to abortion. You’re also invited to stand and peacefully pray during a 40-day vigil in the public right-of-way near Goshen Planned Parenthood, 7 Coates Drive. St. John's Church spon-sors every Friday during the campaign from 7:00am to 12:00pm. During these hours we try to get a minimum of two prayer volunteers per hour. Sign-up sheets are in the back of the church if you're available to pray at Goshen Planned Parenthood OR you can sign up to pray and day of the week by going to 40daysforlife.com/Goshen. If you’d like more information – and especially if you’d like to volunteer to help - please contact Wendy at (845) 820-4366.
In an effort to make the sacrament of Penance more readily available, we will hear confessions after every Sunday Mass during the season of Lent, in addition to the regularly-scheduled time on Saturday afternoons. Confessions will also be heard on Saturday mornings in the chapel sacristy following the 8:00am Mass.
All are invited to the Lenten book discussion on Rod Dreher’s The Benedict Option: A Strategy for Christians in a Post-Christian Nation. The final gathering will be on Saturday, April 13 at 9:00am in the parish center.
Please don’t forget to fill up your baby bottles with spare change or a check to help GoodCounsel Homes. Good Counsel operates four pro-life homes and a national crisis pregnancy helpline (800-723-8331). Baby bottles will be collected by Easter at weekend Masses. Catholic Charities Bereavement Support Group The Bereavement Support Group is free and open to the community. Monthly meetings provide a safe environment to those who have lost a loved one to addiction to share and seek support without stigma or judgement. The group will meet this Monday, April 8 at 224 Main Street, Go-shen from 7:00pm to 8:15pm. The group is facilitated by Jane Carey, LCSW-R. Please use the rear entrance, first floor conference room.
