02.21.20 “If you have the opportunity to play this game of life you need to appreciate every moment. A lot of people don’t appreciate the moment until it’s passed.” - Kanye West Dear AHS Families, This week was filled with some pretty cool moments. Our daughter took her first steps and it was just as exciting for us with her as it was with our first. The only difference is that Clara Kate has three older brothers who take such good care of her that there’s been no real sense of urgency for her to learn to walk (she’s 14 months!). We also got to take our oldest two boys skiing for the first time at Perfect North with the AHS Ski Club. It was an unbelievable time - the weather was PERFECT (unlike the past several weeks!) and we might as well have been in Colorado because the boys thought the small peaks of Southern Indiana were enormous mountains!! They had a BLAST!! This week was a compilation of some pretty cool moments both for me personally and also here at Anderson High School. And although a few of the moments were considered “firsts”, they don’t always have to be “firsts” to celebrate and reflect on joyfully. For example, last night I had the chance to help my son David with his project for school. When we were finished working together, he turned to me and said, “Thank you for helping me with my project, Dad.” That moment of unprompted gratitude was one I’ll take to the bank! This weekend, I encourage us all to take advantage of the moments in which we find ourselves. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the craziness of the week, the events of the day, the meetings, games, recitals, etc., etc. I hope that we can slow down, be still, and reflect on the joys that surround us! Have a GREAT weekend! Rob UPCOMING SCHOOL EVENTS: Note: This is not even CLOSE to an exhaustive list, but an attempt to provide parents with major, school-related upcoming events.
