Our project is based on the 4Online 5eb ased Information System of the ational Institute of
#areer +evelopment 67 and it perform all functioning of I#+ that is issuing form7 admission of
student7 #ounseling7 #ourse En(uiry 7 #enter $llotment7 Seat 8anagement etc. are done using
this.
In this online functioning all the function of I#+ is done through on line .*e can submit all the
application forms7 directly online. It is very less time consuming method and convent to use.
In the off line functioning student suffers form many problems they submitting all the form in the
(ueue. That is very timing process and it is not sufficient for every student and also submitting
all the examination forms in a (ueue but on line reduces this timing process and there is no need
of (ueue for submitting all there.
On line process is helpful to performing easily in the 2niversity management9 student directly
ac(uired the 'egistration no7 receipt number and the related information very (uic!ly.
Today environment is on line based on *hich process is very helpful for all the students *ho
lived in different place and submitting the form at a one place directly internet application *eb

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
SYSTEM ANALYSIS

understand the needs of the users.
*eason (or 'nalysis
The recent expansion has increased the fre(uency of boo! issue and return7 *hich has in
turn aided to the complexity of hosting them. The current manual system is not fulfilling the
information needs of those7 *ho are responsible for implementing the management. :arious
analysis tools such as +%+ is used for analysis.
Scope of system 'nalysis
The system analysis *or! *ill determine the feasibility and direction of the information
needs as outlined in the system plan and the information system services re(uest form
.The findings of system analysis *ill be subse(uently recorded in the system analysis
completion report. 5e *ill be responsible for the delivery of this report *ith in *ee!s from
beginning of the analysis. 'esponsibility for system design *ill be determined at the end of this
system analysis phase.

Soft*are design is a multi step process7 *hich focuses on distinct attributes of programJ datastructure7 soft*are architecture7 interface representation7 and procedural detail. The design
process translates re(uirements into a representation of the soft*are that can be assessed for
(uality before coding begins. $ccording to re(uirement7 the design is documented.
The design must be translated into a machine, readable form. The code generation step perform
this tas! .If design is performed in a detailed manner.
+esign phase is the first step *hile moving from the problem domain to solution domain. This
phase begins *hen the re(uirement specification document for the ne*ly developing system is
available. The aim of this phase is to produce a model or a representation of the system7 *hich is
useful to have an overall loo! of the system *ithout even developing the entire system. This
model of the system is a plan for developing the system. There are three characteristics for the
evaluation of a good design.
1. The design should implement all the re(uirements of the user7 *hich are specified in the
S'S and it must accommodate all the re(uirements that may not be specified by the client in the
analysis phase.

5hen solving a small problem7 the entire problem can be tac!led at once. The complexity of
large problems and limitations of human minds do not allo* large problems to be treated as huge
monoliths. %or soft*are design7 the goal is to divide the problem into manageably small phases
that can be solved separately. )o*ever7 the different phases cannot be entirely independent of
each other7 as they together form the system. The different phases have to co,operate and
communicate in order to solve the larger problem.

$ database management system >+8S? consists of a collection of interrelated data and a set of
programs to access those data. The collection of data7 usually referred to as the database7
contains information about one particular enterprise. The primary goal of a +8S is to provide
an environment that is both convenient and efficient to use in retrieving and sorting database
information. +atabase systems are designed to manage large bodies of information. The
management of data involves both the definition of storage of information and the provision of
mechanisms for the manipulation of information.
5e used relational database management system >'+8S? for developing this system.
The goal of a relational, database management system >'+8S? design is to generate a set of
relation schemas that allo*s us to store information *ithout unnecessary redundancy. It also
allo*s us to retrieve information easily.
*e#n#ancy

means repetition of information i.e.7 same information may be *ritten or stored in many places
>files?. This redundancy may lead to data inconsistency i.e.7 the various copies of the same data.
5hen *e access this inconsistent data7 system may give *rong information. To reduce the data
redundancy *e use the concept of normali"ation.
-ormali@ationof data is a process in *hich unsatisfactory relation schemas are decomposed by
brea!ing up their attribute into smaller relation schemas that possess desirable properties.
ormal forms provide a formal frame*or! for analy"ing relation schemas based on their !eys
and the functional dependencies among attributes to database designers. The concurrent process
model is often used as the paradigm for the development of client server system that is composed
of a set of functional component. 5hen applied to client &server7 the concurrent process model
defines activity in t*o dimensions,,a system dimension and a component dimension. System
level issues are addressed using three activitiesJ design7 assembly7 and use. The component
dimension is addressed *ith t*o activitiesJ design and reali"ation. #oncurrency is achieved in
t*o *aysJ
1? System and activities occur simultaneously and can be modeled using the state oriented
approach described previously.

System secrity
Security is the protection of the database against unauthori"ed access or charge. ecause you
separate the data from the application 7and because you allo* multiple near access to the data.
Cou must also ta!e security need to account.

Every user has a user I+ and it/s o*n pass*ord. 5hen user input the user id and pass*ord then
match if it is a valid id and pass*ord then open application but if the id and pass*ord not valid
then application is not open.it is a *ay of elemenate pass*ord protection for users7but it strongly
advise against using the feature.it is not a good idea to depend on application security in a
client&server environment.the emplications for our application 7I must have a *ay of logging on
the database *ith the user name and pass*ord that gives our applications the right level of
access.
