Synopsis Once upon a time, there was a faraway land called the Enchanted Realm. The people

of the land got along harmoniously for many centuries...that is, until Queen Black gained control of the Silver Tree Forest.

It was not long before happy endings turned into nightmares, as the ruling Kingdom of Gullyshire suffered repeated attacks, and the villains began to gain control. The

mystic mountains filled with nefarious monsters and were no longer safe, and wicked witches took over the charmed forest.

Queen Black has shocked the realm and has invited all of the territories to the Dark Castle of the Silver Tree Forest to sign a peace treaty.

She may have evil intentions. Nonetheless, you have been invited by Queen Black. This is where your story begins.

Ice White is the most gorgeous woman in the Silver Tree Forest. Her beauty has infuriated her wicked stepmother, Queen Black, who has undergone many failed attempts at taking her life. The princess has a cheerful demeanor and doesn’t allow negativity to

infiltrate her. She is on a challenging mission to make her evil stepmother love her.

QUEEN BLACK Queen of Silver Tree Forest

Queen Black is the malevolent ruler of the Silver Tree Forest. There are whispers across the land that the Queen murdered her husband, King White. However, there is no evidence of any crime

and the queen claims he abandoned her. Nonetheless, Queen Black doesn’t let the princess get in her way and rules the land by

instilling fear in the hearts of her people.

ALICIA Resident of Dreamland

Alicia is a mischievous young girl from London who accidentally ended up in the topsy-turvy world of Dreamland. This is where

she met her true love, the Heart Knave. However, she has had to keep her relationship a secret in fear that the Heart Queen will

have her peasant head on a golden platter.

PANDELLA Servant

Pandella lives with the infamous Azalea family of Gullyshire Kingdom. Her father’s untimely death landed his estate in her

stepmother’s lap, and she was reduced to a mere servant of the palace she grew up in. Her former name was Della, but in honor

of the pans that she uses to cook with, her five stepsisters nicknamed her Pandella. She would do anything to escape but

doesn’t have the means.

Blue princess dress - you’ve stolen it from your stepsister, but you don’t

care. Blonde (wig if needed) hair in an up-do.

BELLA Imprisoned Princess

Bella’s father, the king of the Charmed Forest, angered a magical beast as a child by stealing blackberries from the beast’s garden. In retaliation, the irrational monster vowed to take the future king’s first-born child as his own. The fiend made good on his promise and took Bella on her 25th birthday to a cursed palace that can

only be seen by those possessing magical powers.

MAGNIFICENT Ruler of Mystic Forest

Magnificent is the courageous queen of the Mystic Forest. Magnificent has the magical ability to control the living entities of the forest, and this gives her territory great power and protection.

However, Magnificent has recently had to protect the adjacent Mystic Mountains from an increasing number of monsters from

another realm. The residents of the Mystic Forest are very worried that she may one day lose the fight.

Gothic ball gown, hair styled into ‘horns’ (wig, if

SCARLET CLOAK

Scarlet lives in a tiny village in the Mystic Mountains and runs the only medical clinic in the territory. However, she has a very ill grandmother that lives deep in the Silver Tree Forest. Scarlet

often travels to visit her grandmother to give her food and administer medication. However, the strange influx of monsters to

the Mystic Mountains has hindered her journeys lately.

Red cloak with a black & white dress underneath. A basket of food, toy weapon,

and fake medicine as optional props.

NAUGHTY WITCH OF OSLAND Ruler of Osland

The Naughty Witch of Osland wears a magical pair of golden shoes that gives her insurmountable power in her territory. She uses this power to control her army of winged baboons and bees

to get whatever she wants. Osland has three witches that are constantly at war of good versus evil, and the land is in a constant

Rumble Milton is the antagonistic sorcerer of the Enchanted Realm. Rumble is the most powerful being in the land yet is the

most selfish person you’ll ever meet. He is known for bailing people out of trouble; however, if one calls upon Rumble for

assistance, they will owe him dearly. It is best to stay clear of this roguish warlock.

PRINCE EDWARD JON

Prince of Gullyshire Kingdom


Prince Edward Jon, otherwise known as The Charming Prince, is the heir to the Gullyshire throne, which is the main ruling body of the Enchanted Realm. There are constant threats of uprisings throughout the realm, but the royal army has managed to keep things under control thus far. An unidentified army has been

repeatedly attacking the castle, and King Robert Charles, I, has mysteriously fallen into a coma. Prince Jon is now ruling the

realm.

CAPTAIN JIM BLADE

Pirate of the Caspar Sea


Captain Jim Blade is the notorious pirate of the Caspar Sea. Everybody in the realm knows Captain Blade, but Captain Blade

claims he is a friend to no one. Captain Blade has kept busy battling an infamous sea monster from another realm, sea witches and attacks from the shore of Spellbound Island. He was already

slightly bad-tempered, but his current situation has him utterly cantankerous.

Pirate costume. Optional to have a toy cutlass sword

PETEY PEN Leader of the Boys of

Spellbound Island


Petey Pen is the fearless leader of the Doomed Boys of Spellbound Island - an island of banished hooligans. Petey and

his group were banished to this land for various forms of rebellion. There are rumors floating about that Petey has recently acquired

magic. If this is true, it could mean disaster for the Enchanted Realm.

Gothic attire.

ASSIGNING CHARACTERS: the host assigns the character roles from the host character list. We do not recommend your guests choosing their characters.

First, fill in your required spots with your most outgoing and dependable players. Then, use the optional players in any combination. Only the host will know who the optional players are. If you have time, it’s great to send a ‘save the date’ email/text/card at least a month before your party. No time for that - text your closest invitees and ensure they’re able to attend so you can assign them to a required player.

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHARACTER ASSIGNMENTS:

It’s suggested to invite more than the required number of players, as any of the required guests could cancel at the last minute. You may use any optional players in any combination you choose. The optional players have the same materials and participation level but are not mandatory for the storyline to play out and for the mystery to be sleuthed.

What happens if one of your required characters cancels on you at the last minute? 1. If you have an extra optional player coming to the party - give them a call and tell them they’ll need to

switch characters. Hopefully, this isn’t the day of the party because this player most likely has their costume ready. If so, allow them to wear their costume, as their name tag will notify the guests which character they are playing.


2. If you don’t care about the surprise, look at who the murderer and victim are to ensure the characters are still being played in your game. The victim is disclosed within the round two clue cards, and the murderer is disclosed within the round three solutions. The victim has the most important role in the game and may not be left out. The murderer cannot be left out for obvious reasons. You might need to switch one required character over to play the no-show murderer/victim. Post the missing character’s clue cards during each round (not all cards at once) on a wall or table. You can add comedy to this situation and make a stuffed dummy of this character. Post the clues to where the chest would be or in the hands! You’ll be surprised as your guests start to ‘mingle’ with this effigy in good humor. It’s hysterical.

3. If you would like to keep the mystery a surprise and are missing a required player with no optional

characters playing the game - don’t panic. You may contact us via email at [email protected] (we make every attempt to monitor this email throughout the weekends and holidays), so we can tell you if your murderer/victim are still intact. If you can omit the player, you can post the missing required character’s clue card on a wall (or table) during each round (not all cards at once), and explain to the guests you are missing a player, and they need to get the information from these cards.

GAME STRUCTURE: the game is organized into four rounds and is structured as follows: OPTIONAL PRE-GAME STARTER: these optional pre-game tasks are to be delivered to each guest before the party, or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game materials are optional. They are intended to enhance the build up for the event. These tasks are not vital to solving the mystery. Also, encourage your guests to view the Your Mystery Party guest pre-game website to get them excited about your game (this is highly encouraged). ROUND ONE: Deliver the round one clue card envelopes as your guests arrive. It is optional to serve cocktails for adults and appetizers. ROUND TWO: Deliver the round two clue card envelopes. It is optional to break for dinner either before or after this round. SOLUTION ROUND THREE: Deliver the round three solutions. It is optional to serve coffee/hot cocoa and dessert.

Optional pre-game task card…(names removed to minimize spoilers)…

Character B OPTIONAL - for some pre-party fun, contact (email, phone, etc.) the following guests in the week leading up to the party: Contact the guest playing Character M and say that you don’t mean to be confrontational, but you haven’t heard from your father in months, and you wonder if the Queen knows what has happened to him. You know she said she doesn’t know, but you haven’t asked in over a month and were wondering if she has heard anything. In addition, you are wondering why the queen has formally changed her name to Character M. Does this mean that she is in mourning for your father? (Contact info :_______________________________________________________________________) Contact the guest playing Character S and say that you are really worried about your father, King White, because he disappeared many months ago. You have sent your army out to look for him, and nobody knows a thing? (Contact info :____________________________________________________________________________________) Please note: either contacting the guests above or deciding to skip these tasks will not alter the mystery or anyone's ability to solve the mystery in anyway. However, contacting other guests will lead to excitement about the party and will encourage other guests to read about the other characters and be prepared for serious fun!

Character K – Round One CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND

During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose: Tell a few people that there have been rumors going around for centuries that you are evil and have malicious intent. However, that is quite the opposite. You love and care for every creature in your forest and are the most sympathetic ruler in all of the Enchanted Realm. You do want to take over the Mystic Mountains, but only because you heard that Character B wants to take them over and you care about what happens to the people and creatures that live there. You heard a rumor that Character R is summoning monsters to the Mystic Mountains to keep you busy so you don’t interfere with her plans of taking over the Enchanted Realm. See if anybody knows if this is true. If so, you would never allow her to take over any other territory besides her own – the xxxx removed xxxx. Tell people that you do have powerful magic, but lately, you have had to spend all of your time fighting the centaurs, cursed hobbits, trolls and goblins that have been summoned to the Mystic Mountains. You attack them at night while they sleep to minimize danger to yourself. You saved Character I’s life two days ago from a troll. She was simply going on a journey to take care of her ailing grandmother in Silver Tree Forest. Ask Character V if she supports Character T. Ask her what happened to her father (King White). You heard he simply disappeared many months ago. That is not like King White at all – you knew him very well and he was very devoted to her and the people and creatures of the Silver Tree Forest. Ever since the king disappeared, the Silver Tree Forest has grown bleak and dreary. The people of the territory seem afraid, hungry and tired and you are concerned.

PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL • The trees in your forest have taken a turn and have become ill-spirited. You believe Character G may have put a

curse on the Mystic River that runs from the Caspar Sea into the Mystic Forest. You have asked a powerful wizard, Character Y, to test the river with his magic and he should let you know by next week if this is true. Until then, you will suspect that Character U is innocent until you hear differently.

character H - Round Two Pre-Murder Clues

♥ Tell a few people that you believe with all of your heart that it is Character T that has summoned monsters to the Mystic Mountains. You believe that she is doing this because she heard that character Y was going to claim the Mystic Mountains to be part of the Mystic Forest territory. The mountains need a ruler, and it made perfect sense – especially since the Mystic Forest is the most harmonious territory in the entire realm! You have no idea why Character G would have a problem with it and why she is being so evil. She is also recruiting a second army.

♥ Tell a few people that if these monsters keep appearing in the Mystic Mountains, you are going to have to find a new place to live. It will be exceedingly difficult to move your grandmother from the Silver Tree Forest, as she is not in a stable condition and could die if you tried to move her to another territory, such as the Charmed Forest. Also, the people of Mystic Mountains would have no medical care if you left them, so you would be leaving a lot of people in dire straits. However, since King White disappeared many months ago, the conditions in the Silver Tree Forest have deteriorated with each day. It is only a matter of time before you will be forced to move your grandmother somewhere else.

♥ Speak to Character C about who she thinks cursed the beast and the Trimtote Palace. Ask her what she plans to do about the curses.

♥ Ask around to see why you heard that children are disappearing from the Charmed Forest. That’s horrible! Post-Murder Evidence & Alibi (Blood Type A-)

Example Timeline 7:00 PM: Guests arrive, have their pictures made and enjoy appetizers. Have the guest instructions, the Enchanted Realm map, and a character list available for the guests to view. 7:10 PM: The host goes over the instructions for the mystery game. It is optional to have each character stand up and introduce themselves to the group. You can play the game trailer video for an introduction. 7:20 PM: The Round One envelopes are handed out and the game begins. The guests mingle and discuss the clues on their clue cards. Motives will start to unfold during this round. 7:50 PM: An optional bonus game is played. (15 minutes) 8:05 PM: Dinner is served. (Dinner is optional – appetizers / snacks can be served throughout the party instead of serving a formal dinner.) 8:45 PM: The Round Two envelopes are handed out, and the guests mingle about with their pre-murder clues. 9:00 PM The victim becomes the victim, and the investigation of the crime begins. The mystery investigation sheets are handed out and the guests reveal their post-murder clues and investigate the crime. 9:15 PM: The forensic report is revealed. The guests review it and finalize their best guess of whodunit. 9:20 PM The investigation sheets (guesses of whodunit) are turned in to the host and the host allows the guests to one at a time accuse who they believe did it. 9:30 PM: Dessert and coffee (both optional) are served and the Round Three envelopes are handed out to the guests. The guests sit in a circle and one-by-one, the solutions are revealed by each suspect and the murderer confesses at the end. You can allow a few minutes for the guests to mingle at the end to discuss the mystery. 9:45 PM: Another bonus game is played (15 minutes) 10:00 PM: Now it would be time for an optional awards ceremony! (5-10 minutes) *Please note: if you want to shorten the mystery party, omit the bonus games, don’t stop for dinner and simply serve appetizers/snacks throughout, omit the accusation round &/or the awards ceremony. If you wish to extend the length of the party, simply add more bonus games!
