Dr. Johnson won the 2017 UT Department of Family Medicine Volunteer Faculty Award. “It is quite an honor,” Dr. Johnson says. “The award was voted on by the student residents, which means a
lot coming from them. I have a second and third year family practice resident rotate through my office every month. They
come down to work in an office which still does comprehensive complete family medicine including hospital, critical care,
obstetrics and hospice work.”
Congratulations, Dr. Johnson, Sweetwater Hospital Association is very proud of you.
CONGRATULATIONS, DR. JOHNSON
“I was a patient in the Emergency Room in August and
was sent to Moccasin Bend. I was strung out on drugs
and my life was headed down the wrong road. Your
nurse changed my life. She was so nice to me. I have
never been treated with such kindness in my life. She
talked to me, told me about her kids, got me food, and
allowed me to shower. I will never forget her. When I
left Moccasin Bend I set out to get a job and leave the
area I was living in. I moved to Loudon County and called
my brother, who I didn’t think would even speak to me.
Not only did he answer my call but he gave me a job. I
just wanted someone to know how great this nurse is
and how she changed my life.”
The nurse that cared for this patient was Kelley Lester.
Kelly has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for nine years
and employed by SHA for eight years. She has two
children, Bradley and Bailie. Kelly comes to work every
day with a smile and little did she know how her kind
heart would change a life on this day.
