A certification is an agreement between an employer and the Swedish Migration Agency that allows a smoother and faster processing.
The certification applies to first-time and extension applications for work permits and applications from former students who has had residence permits in Sweden and apply for work permits. Family members applying together with the employee are also included in the certification.

- Free movement, right of residence in Sweden
Non-EU citizens
- Business Visa, e.g. for meetings, conferences, seminars (max 90 days under a 180 day period)
- Work permit, required when the main purpose is to work (regardless of number of days)
- Exemption from work permit

• During the first 2 years the work permit is limited to the sponsoring
employer and occupation (SSYK code)
• After 24 months, it’s only limited to the occupation (SSYK code)
• The principal applicant must start his/her employment in Sweden whithin 4
months from the date of approval
• If terminated, the principal applicant has up to 3 months to find a new
employment
• Swedish Migration Agency may only grant a work permit for maximum 4
years under a 7 year period
A work and residence permit can only be granted for maximum of 2 years.
To continue your employment in Sweden, you will need to apply for an
extension
