EWelcome to the 2015-
2016 Chanhassen Lifestyle Guide.
What makes Chanhas-sen such a welcoming com-munity? For this year’s guide we asked for your advice and called upon a ran dom sampling of Chanhassen residents to tell us what they love about living here. Thanks to Ra-chel Mortimer, Lisa Patrin, Christen Bauerly-Carron, and Karla Wennerstrom for their input, as well as local officials and busi-ness leaders. Throughout our 2015-16 Chanhassen Lifestyle Guide, you’ll see what they enjoy about the city, the community, the businesses and all the other amenities that make Chanhassen not just where they live but what makes it their home.
This publication offers a directory of information and resources used by Chanhassen area busi-nesses and residents, es-pecially those who are new to this area.
The Lifestyle Guide is a compilation of impor-tant information — a single source for lists of services, names, telephone num-bers and email addresses. Keep it handy; use it often.
Our apologies in ad-vance for omissions or for changes that occur after publication. Please notify us of informa-tion that needs to be updated so it can be kept current throughout the year.

“Every Chanhassen resident should visit Prince’s recording studio and concert venue at least once.”
- Karla Wennerstrom
IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE MAN’S CRAZY DREAMAt the time it seemed a crazy idea. Who could envision bringing
a world-class dinner theater featuring Broadway musicals to a small farming community on the edge of the Twin Cities? That would be Herb Bloomberg, a local developer who dreamed big and built the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. The theater opened in 1968 and the rest, as they say, is history. Today the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is a multi-venue entertainment center that showcases a major musical on its main stage, has a comedy club, and features live music every weekend.
“We love to visit Chanhassen’s bike trails, parks and beaches,” said Karla Wennerstrom, who’s been a Chanhassen resident for 16 years. “Our family’s favorites are the Lake Riley, Lotus Lake and Lake Ann Beach, where we like to rent paddle-boats. We love Chanhassen’s Fourth of July carnival and parade. It’s the best parade around, bar none. The kids love the maze at the Minnesota Landscape Arbore-tum. The Chanhassen Dinner Theatres complex is a local treasure, and their summer theater camp is awesome.
“But, my favorite place to visit in Chanhassen is Paisley Park,” Wennerstrom said. “Every Chanhassen resident should visit Prince’s recording studio and concert venue at least once. Events are usu-ally announced a few days in advance on Twitter and Facebook (@Prince3EG). In addition to the funky musical performances (Alabama Shakes performed there this year), there’s a good chance you will see Prince, and if you’re very lucky, you’ll see him play.”

“Chanhassen residents have a strong sense of community, built through long-standing traditions, and active civic and business organizations.”
- City Manager Todd Gerhardt
Nothing seems to energize Chanhassen residents as much as local elections and discussing local issues. Chanhassen’s voter turnout
regularly exceeds the average. On Election Day, all the city’s polling sites are busy, staffed with energetic volunteers who help keep the voting process effi cient and trouble-free.
“Chanhassen residents have a strong sense of community, built through longstanding traditions, and active civic and business or-ganizations,” said City Manager Todd Gerhardt. “Residents benefi t from a thriving downtown, an extensive park and trail system, excel-lent schools and the preservation and enhancement of our natural amenities.”
When asked about Chanhassen city government, Chanhassen resident Lisa Patrin said, “I think our local government works hard to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for the community. Our Mayor Denny Laufenburger has hit the ground running and is very responsive to the needs of the Chanhassen residents. I think the overall state of the city is positive. I love the small-town feel of our community and hope our mayor and our City Council representatives will work hard to continue to build on that vision.”
For Rachel Mortimer, a former attorney and now a stay-at-home-mom, government services like the Chanhassen Library provide families with myriad resources and activities.
“The Chanhassen Library has great story times for infants and toddlers ... and does great events like a Valentine make-and-take that my kids have really enjoyed.” Mortimer also has good things to say about The Schools of Eastern Carver County school district.
“We do Early Childhood Family Education and have really enjoyed making new friends,” Mortimer said, “and having a resource for ques-tions that come up as my kids go through new stages.”

All council positions are representatives at-large.
All policy decisions and legislative activities are the responsibility of the council, but the administrative duties are delegated to the city manager, who is appointed by the council. GOVERNMENT
Welcome to the community of
Chanhassen, Minnesota! Chanhassen was founded in the mid 1850’s and most attribute that founding to Joseph Vogel and Joseph Kessler. As was the case when Chanhassen was founded, even so today our citizens take pride in preserving our rich history, enjoying the opportunities of today, and embracing and planning for our future.
We are proud of our community and we humbly accept the national recognition Chanhassen has received for our quality of life, small-town charm, community festivals, parks and trails, quality public and private school education and industrious employers and employees. These awards are simply confi rmation and reminders of what people in Chanhassen already know, that Chanhassen is a great place to raise a family.
Whether you are a visitor, new to our community, or a long-time resident, you will fi nd many activities to enjoy. We are home to unique attractions such as the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, which is America’s oldest continuously operating dinner theatre and consistently receives rave reviews from critics and patrons alike. No matter the season, a trip to the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is sure to delight all ages. Sports fans, be sure to take in a Chanhassen Red Birds
baseball game at Storm Red Bird Stadium. Fishing on our many lakes, whether in a boat in the summer or on the ice in the winter, is a favorite pastime for many.
Families and visitors of Chanhassen fi nd great attraction in our downtown area, featuring grocers, convenience shops and friendly boutiques. Our many restaurants offer fi ne dining, counter casual and time-effi cient choices with wide variety including a broad array of ethnically diverse cuisine.
We also know how to have a party! Chanhassen has been recognized for our festivals and celebrations including the Annual February Festival, our Rotary Sponsored Fourth of July celebration, and the “Night on the Town” organized by the local Downtown business group, BuyChanhassen! Additionally, “National Night Out” helps to build strong communities to promote public safety and common-connection amongst more than 50 neighborhoods on the fi rst Tuesday of every August.
When you experience Chanhassen, you will learn that the “Quality of Life” that we all enjoy is a product of civic pride and active participation
from all our citizens. The goodness that you fi nd living in Chanhassen comes from our churches, neighborhoods, civic organizations, city employees, places of commerce and industry, youth and adult athletic organizations and most importantly from the families that are committed to preserving the character of this community.
Somehow, the words of the Rev. H. M. Nichols, written in 1855, when Chanhassen was in its founding period, still have signifi cance today;
“Two years ago, Chanhassen was nowhere. Now, there is hardly a vacant claim left in
the township. The settlers are far above average of new settlements, in respectability, morality, and intelligence; and rarely can a pleasanter or more desirable community be found, than that now settled in Chanhassen.”
We hope you enjoy the time you spend in Chanhassen. If you would like to gain a deeper insight into any aspect of Chanhassen, don’t hesitate to contact City Hall at 952-227-1100. Our “Director of First Impressions” will be delighted to assist you!
Warmest Regards,Denny Laufenburger

Carver County is geographi-cally one of the metro area’s
smallest counties but continues to be one of the state’s fastest growing. Recent estimates by the Metropolitan Council predict the population will swell from 91,000 in 2010 to more than 131,000 in 2040 — and Carver County of-fi cials believe those numbers may be conservative.
Residents take great pride in being an upscale community with beautiful natural surroundings. The county offers a combination of a picturesque setting with growing professional opportunities.
Carver County is home to an array of recreational activities, including renowned golf courses, beautiful lakes, and miles of hiking and biking trails with some of the most breathtaking parks.
Carver County government proceedings can be followed on-line at www.co.carver.mn.us. The Carver County Board is composed of fi ve members, each of whom is elected from a geographic district. Terms are four years and they are staggered. The County Board generally meets twice monthly at the Carver County Government Center in Chaska.

Did you know that at one time, Chanhassen was known as
“Little Bavaria?”As an affi liate of the Carver
County Historical Society, the Chanhassen Historical Society’s mission is to research, preserve, and educate the community on our local history. And, to unearth fascinating bits of local history to enlighten and entertain.
A recent archaeological dig performed in Chanhassen revealed that human life was found in our area more than 6,000 years ago. The community of Chanhassen, however, began to take shape in the 1800s. To obtain statehood, Minnesota solicited settlers from both the eastern part of the United States, as well as Europe. Many Germans and Scandinavians settled in the area in the mid- 1850s.
Farming and agriculture was the primary draw to this area. The soil was rich and crops would fl ourish. Our climate was similar to that of Germany, allowing immigrants to use their agricultural knowledge of their home country.
Franciscan priests from Germany are credited with establishing a Catholic mission
church in Chanhassen. The congregation would be named St. Hubertus and would serve to hold the small farming community together in the new world.
The community of Chanhassen was often called “Little Bavaria.” The tidy farms and lush surroundings reminded people of the state of Bavaria, Germany. However, the village retained a population level of only 250 people.
In the early 1960s, the farming industry began to diminish in the area. Farmlands were sold to land developers. A growing population from Minneapolis had penetrated
the community of Eden Prairie and was heading our way. Government and business offi cials of the village of Chanhassen prepared for population growth. Their wisdom and foresight launched Chanhassen into being the city we enjoy today.
The Chanhassen Historical Society takes pride in collaborating with other community organizations to tell our stories and keep the history of Chanhassen alive. Understanding the history of your community can offer a resident a feeling of belonging, much like understanding the genealogy of your family.
Whether it’s teaming with the city of Chanhassen to present the popular Cemetery Walk, hosting educational sessions at the Chanhassen Library, or collaborating with St. Hubert’s Church on tours of the old church, the Chanhassen Historical Society promotes a personal and interactive understanding of the history of our community.
If you have a passion for learning or supporting local history, or enjoy interacting with community organizations and community members, being a member of the Chanhassen Historical Society will appeal to you. An annual membership is $15. Our members are also automatic members of the Carver County Historical Society. You can fi nd us on Facebook, or see our website at www.Chanhistorical.org.

“With two young and energetic boys, it is so wonderful to have so many options nearby for regular care and for emergencies.”
- Christen Bauerly-Carron
“With two young and energetic (and adventurous) boys, it is so wonderful to have so many options (clinics and urgent care
centers) nearby for regular care and for emergencies,” said Christen Bauerly-Carron of Chanhassen. “The options and services are end-less, conveniently located.”
Long-time resident Lisa Patrin agrees and adds that “We have a nice variety of medical clinics, chiropractors and dentists. I bike almost daily and routinely see large numbers of people who value exercise. From running to biking to walking, our lovely city paths and trails are very busy places.”
The city’s extensive paths and trails are a hit with Chanhassen stay-at-home mom and former attorney Rachel Mortimer.
“There are so many amazing trails,” Mortimer said. “I run a path to Excelsior along Powers (Boulevard) almost every morning.”
Being healthy and making it a community effort was how Bring It! Studios, a fi tness center in Chanhassen got its start. Co-owner Katy Keeler teamed up with a friend to train for a half marathon, exercising in the Chanhassen fi re station basement. Her husband is a member of the Chanhassen Fire Department. Before long, their informal training turned into classes, and then a business.
“Chanhassen is an active, healthy community,” Keeler said. “And we try to make exercise as fun and fl exible as possible.”

Carver County ranked fi rst in health outcomes among all Minnesota counties for the third consecutive year, accord-ing the 2015 County Health Rankings report released by the Rober t Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
C a r v e r C o u n t y r a n ke d fourth in Minnesota for health factors that contribute to health outcomes. The rankings are completed for nearly every county in the United States and rank counties on 35 factors that affect health, including educa-tion, transportation, housing, jobs, diet, and exercise.
The repor t’s health out-comes include five measures: years of potential life lost before age 75, percentage of adults reporting fair or poor health, average number of poor
physical health days per month, average number of poor mental health days per month, and low birth weight. Carver County scored better than national and state benchmarks on nearly all health outcome measures, and had the lowest rate of years of potential life lost among Min-nesota counties.
Carver County uses a vari-ety of methods to assess and measure the health of Carv-er County communities. The County Health Rankings is one tool used to spur discussion and action across all community sectors – including government, business, education, communi-ty, and health care – to improve the health and well-being of Carver County residents.

A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, WORK, AND KICK BACK
When it comes to leisure, Chanhassen has something for ev-eryone.
Lisa Patrin of Chanhassen ticks down a list of things she and her family have enjoyed.
“We have a multitude of leisure activities for almost every inter-est level,” Patrin said. “Many neighborhoods have book clubs, Bunco leagues and walking and running clubs.
“I frequently see groups of road bikers out together on Saturday and Sunday mornings,” Patrin said. “We are a very bike-friendly community. Chanhassen has a historical society that promotes the rich history of our area. The Arts Consortium of Carver County fo-cuses on strengthening and cultivating the arts in the communities of Carver County.”
Rachel Mortimer provided her list of favorite leisure activities her family enjoys year-round.
“The Rec Center does a great Halloween event for kids featuring horse-drawn hay rides, trick-or-treating and games. The Fourth of July parade in Chanhassen is wonderful. I think every family in Chaska/Chan shows up for it. Kindermusic with Kim is a great local music class for little kids. Chanhassen seems to be a perfect place for young families.”

“We have the most amazing neighbors that have become true friends; the neighborhood is full of children making memories together.”
- Christen Bauerly-Carron
NATIONAL RECOGNITION IS WELL DESERVED
Overall, our respondents love living here.Case in point, Christen Bauerly-Carron who said, “We love
living in Chanhassen. We have the most amazing neighbors that have become true friends; the neighborhood is full of children mak-ing memories together; we are proud to entertain family and friends when they come into town and show off the wonderful establishments for dining, shopping and entertainment we have within just minutes of our home, and any store I could possibly want to visit is within a 15-minute-drive.”
When asked about the city’s high praise from Money Magazine as being one of the top cities in which to live, Wennerstrom agrees. “Chanhassen deserves its high rankings.”
“The accolades from Money Magazine and other national publications are well deserved,” said Patrin. “Our family has been here 20 years and we feel so fortunate. We moved here in 1996 after living in California for two years and have never looked back. Raising children and cultivating friendships in this community has been a wonderful experience for our family. We appreciate our close proximity to the many shopping, dining and entertainment venues in our own city as well as our ability to get on Highway 212 quickly for trips to the airport or to visit our extended families in Minneapolis and Plymouth.”

“I can attest that Chanhassen’s downtown really does have a small-town feel.”
- Karla Wennerstrom
EVERYTHING YOU’D NEED AND MORE IS HERE
For many residents, Chanhassen has just the kinds of stores, busi-nesses and services they need.
“I don’t leave the city of Chanhassen often to shop,” Lisa Patrin said. “We have most every necessity covered. From Target, CVS and Wal-greens stores to groceries, home improvement stores and clothing.”
From the business community perspective and as a member of the Chanhassen Rotary, Greg Krauska provided input on the local market.
“As a Rotarian, I look at business philanthropy and ethical stan-dards,” Krauska said. “Chanhassen businesses are very generous, supporting our work and many other great causes. Local business leaders are also more focused on how things get done, versus simply what gets done. That combination makes Chanhassen an increasingly attractive place to live.”
Vernelle Clayton heads the local Buy Chanhassen business as-sociation, and credits the city’s success to having “lots of depth in both size and product in our business parks and a still healthy and still growing retail segment with room for more to fi nd success here in Chanhassen.”
Most importantly, Chanhassen maintains a small hometown atmosphere.
“As someone who came from a small town,” said resident Karla Wennerstrom, “I can attest that Chanhassen’s downtown really does have a small-town feel. It’s nice to be able to walk from the store to the library to the post offi ce, and see a lot of the same friendly faces, when you’re running errands. We love our local movie theater, with real butter on the popcorn.”
Chanhassen resident Lisa Patrin says she doesn’t have to leave the city of Chanhassen often to shop. “We have most every necessity covered. From Target, CVS and Walgreens stores to groceries, home improvement stores and clothing. (Photo by Unsie Zuege)

Jason Dayton still remembers the first time he saw his Lionheart Hard Cider on a liquor store shelf.“We were in Total Wine and
there it was,” he said. “I just stood and looked at it for awhile.”The Chaska native and 2011 Chanhas-sen High School graduate didn’t want to see the product sitting on the shelf half as much as he wanted to see it flying off the shelves though, so he got to work.“I asked a woman in the store if she knew about it,” he recalled. “She said she hadn’t tried that brand, but it looked cool.”
Dayton was over the moon. “She called it a brand. We’re a brand!”Two months later, the novelty has yet to wear off. Dayton, 22, is barely old enough to legally drink in the United States, but he is the CEO of his own hard cider company.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASSIt all started when Dayton studied abroad at Queen Mary University of Lon-don in 2013. “I fell in love with cider,” he said. “They have a great cider industry.”

Chanhassen’s Paisley Park has featured dozens of impromptu Prince jams in recent years, but the three days of events over Labor Day weekend were noteworthy for their international flavor.Paisley Park hosted three International Dance Parties to “celebrate the global release of Prince’s new music Hit N’ Run presented by Tidal.”“I always wanted to come see Prince in his own place,” said Clara Blennow-Nils-son, who flew in Friday from Stockholm, Sweden. “I wouldn’t just go on a hunch. If he invited us, hopefully I could go. And this was the time.”
Blennow-Nilsson and visitors from the United Kingdom were part of the first group that took a tour of Prince’s studios Friday. 3rdeyegirl members, drummer Hannah Welton, guitarist Donna Grantis and bassist Ida Nielsen, danced with the group as Joshua Welton (co-producer of the new album and Hannah’s husband) played songs from the album. Prince called in on the phone and talked with them over the speaker, first asking what all that noise was coming from the studio. Those taking the tour were able to see some of Prince’s

Carver County takes great pride in being an upscale community
with beautiful natural surround-ings. It is home to an array of recreational activities, including renowned golf courses, beautiful pristine lakes, and miles of hiking and biking trails with some of the most breathtaking parks.
While Carver County is prepar-ing for forward momentum and explosive growth through 2030, we are steeped in a rich history that represents the culture, passion, and pride that has made our county what it is today. These attributes come together to make Carver County the best place to live, work and play. You’d be hard pressed to fi nd another place in the country that has so much entertainment, history and variety within a 20-mile radius.
In the past few years as the president of SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce I have witnessed a very strong economic environment in the area. This region has seen millions of dollars in spending for capital investment, new and permanent jobs, and a strong economic and civic vital-ity for our city downtown centers and neighborhoods. The chamber works collaboratively with our cities, businesses, and other key stakeholders across the area to foster and advance a positive and progressive economic develop-ment for our region. The chamber sees itself as a conduit to assist cities in achieving their economic development goals.
The cities of Carver, Chanhas-sen, Chaska and Victoria cover the eastern portion of the county. However, there are neighboring cities in the region that offer their own unique venues and amenities.
Carver, the oldest city in the county, is on the National Reg-ister of Historic Places. The city features one-of-a- kind antiquing, summer concerts, recreational ac-tivities and a multitude of historic homes and commercial buildings. Unique businesses line its main
street, and residents and visi-tors alike can’t help but enjoy the historic community! Traditionally recognized as a historic river town, Carver is creating a new chapter of its well preserved heritage. Jim McComb, a leading Twin Cities business analyst recently com-mented, “Carver probably has one of the most promising trade areas of its type in the metro area due to the growth of the southwest cor-ridor and the income characteris-tics of the trade area residents.” With an average household me-dian income of $97,193, newly constructed infrastructure, and location along the Highway 212 corridor, it’s become diffi cult for most to overlook the business and development opportunities going forward in Carver. In fact, the Builders Association of the Twin Cities reported that the city of Carver was second only to the city of Minnetonka in new housing starts in the Twin Cities metro area during the month of August.
Chanhassen offers a great qual-ity of life and has been recognized in a host of national rankings for being a great place to live, work and play! The downtown area offers shopping, dining, lodging and entertainment – including the landmark Chanhassen Dinner Theatres – as well as a library and many service and retail businesses. Chanhassen has 11 lakes and 90
miles of trails for people of all ages to enjoy. Whether it’s dining out, seeing a Broadway-quality musical or strolling the region’s
best flora and fauna at the Minnesota Landscape Arbore-tum, Chanhassen is a place for all seasons!
Chanhassen is a key stake-holder in continuing to create economic opportunities and looks to continue growth in many areas in 2016. As construction wraps up in Camden Ridge, Boulder Cove and Olive Branch Estates, Chanhas-sen will begin moving forward on new housing developments. There are currently plans for Mission Hills, a senior living facility near the intersection of highways 212 and 101, as well as The Vistas at Bentz Farms, a single-family home development off of Galpin Bou-levard and Highway 5. There are also planned expansions to senior living facilities at Powers Ridge and The Beehive.
In an effort to expand on the nearly 15,0 0 0 jobs already in Chanhassen, industrial growth will continue with the relocation of The Benard Group to the former SuperValue site along Lake Drive. The city has also been in talks with developers about a new industrial site at the former Holasek Farms site off Lyman Boulevard.
Chaska, home to the 2016 Ry-der Cup, combines the best of both worlds — friendly small town and modern city. Chaska is quietly nestled along the Minnesota River and has miles of scenic trails for hiking and biking, and parks that are easily accessible within the area . Chaska offers a historic downtown, unique shopping, din-ing, and lodging, and many dynamic attractions … including a world class curling facility opening in 2015. Hazeltine National Golf Club is Chaska’s claim to fame.
Set in beautiful natural sur-roundings — where prairie meets woodland — Hazeltine is home to a championship course, award winning clubhouse, and is host
of the prestigious 2016 Ryder Cup matches. Only a few miles away, the esteemed Chaska Town Course is also considered to be one of the best in the Twin Cities. Designed by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, the Chaska Town Course sprawls over 285 acres of oak groves, open prairie and marshlands. Lush bent grass covers the playing area from tee box to green. Chaska Town Course is owned and operated by the city of Chaska.
If you are looking for small town charm, look no further than Victo-ria! Cobblestone streets, quaint neighborhoods and a thriving business community make up the landscape of Victoria. Eleven lakes lie within Victoria’s boundaries and parks and trails abound for active and passive use. The Lowry Nature Center and Carver Park Reserve are major attractions, as well as one of Minnesota’s premier 18-hole championship golf courses, Deer Run. Discover Victoria …a nd you’ll be glad you did!
In addition to all the awesome things each city has to offer, the entire region is bursting with exciting events and tours. Art Wanderer, Barn Quilt Tours, not to mention the new Minnesota wineries, breweries and distillery that have opened up, putting the entire southwest metro on the map. Be sure to check out the SW Minne Tour for those that are look-ing for a relaxing day of fun. The scenic tour will bring you through area communities that include Victoria, Waconia, Excelsior and Minnetonka.
This is a great way to see what the area has to offer — beautiful lakes, quaint downtowns, out-standing restaurants, beaches, trails and more! As you can tell, the southwest metro area offers something for everyone! Whether you are here for the weekend or a lifetime, enjoy your stay!
Lori Anderson is the president of the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce.

PETS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME IN CHANIn addition to many businesses that
provide pet services from food and pet products to pet health care, grooming and boarding, Chanhassen’s pets have an extensive trail and park system to enjoy. In addition, Lake Minnewashta Regional Park has an off-leash dog park that enables socialization and exercise for pets and pet owners alike.
The 13-acre park, which opened in May 2007, draws not only local Chanhassen residents but from neighboring communities, too.
“It’s a very popular and used facility,” Martin Walsh, Carver County Parks director, said. “We know that from the amount of use and the wear patterns from the dogs. The parking lot has users from morning to dusk. What makes it different than other off-leash parks is that it is primarily wooded with a three-quarter-mile trail meandering. There’s a lot of shade and grassy open areas. The trails are both aggregate and wood chips. The entrance has water fountains at ground and regular-level for pups and for their owners. There is a separate area for smaller dogs, too, which is also used by owners who are introducing their dogs to a dog park for the fi rst time. Dogs look around and they get the idea of ‘Oh, I see. This isn’t just my territory. So this is how it works.’
“We get feedback all the time,” Walsh said. “We’ve got a regular group of interested folks who let us know about maintenance concerns, and mostly positive feedback. And most recently, we’ve paved the parking lot.”

PET INFORMATIONThe city of Chanhassen does not require pet
licenses, but both cats and dogs are required to have some identifi cation on them that would assist animal control in contacting the owner. Types of identifi cation include microchips, veterinarian-issued rabies tags, or any tags or collars with contact information and phone numbers inscribed on them.
Rabies VaccinationsAll dogs and cats over six months of age and
kept as a pet are required to be vaccinated against rabies.
Kennel PermitAny household with more than two two dogs,
more than three cats or any combination of four or more dogs or cats over six months of age is required to obtain a private kennel permit.
Carver-Scott Humane SocietyThe Carver-Scott Humane Society serves
Carver and Scott counties as well as a portion of Hennepin County. The organization is currently without a permanent building; all abandoned pets are housed in foster care until permanent adoption. The humane society frequently hosts pet adoption days at area locations.
To help an animal by fostering or donating litter or unopened pet food, call (952) 368-3553, line 4, or visit www.carverscotths.org.
