clean room maintenance

When you’re creating sensitive, precisely-constructed products, a pristine facility is critical. We share your concern for the quality of your products and the security of your business. That’s why we deliver clean room and controlled environment cleaning with decontamination techniques that meet the most exacting standards.

Our team of professionals know how to select the proper chemical disinfectant to overcome the resistance of specific contaminants and protect the integrity of your clean room, data center, research lab, manufacturing space, medical device lab, etc.

You’ve invested considerable amounts of money in the clean rooms and sensitive equipment at your operation. Your decontamination investment is equally important. Contaminants can be devastating, and without proper cleaning and operating procedures, a tiny microbe could ruin the results of years of dedicated research.

Silicon Valley Facility Services is your resource for information about the best products and cleaning methods for your specialized environment. We will examine your procedures and help you develop the proper scope of work.

Unique challenges in clean room environments

Particles:• Dust and other particles that are too small to be removed by the air filters in your clean room pose a risk to your operation and product integrity. Maintaining a pristine environment ensures maximum product yield.

residue:• Deposits of nonvolatile residue and other types of molecular contamination can pose risks to your products and the equipment you depend on to produce them. They can also interfere with your workers’ productivity and may create potential hazards.

electrostatic charges:• Controlling electrostatic charges reduces the risk of damaging microelectronics, as well as decreases the likelihood that contaminants will cling to surfaces in your clean room.

cross-contamination:• Clean room facilities in the R&D industry face an increased risk of contamination from other parts of an operation.

resistance:• Microbes and fungal spores may begin to resist the use of biocides. Constant decontamination with chemical disinfectants is extremely important to overcome resistance.

Glove Programs

green glove program

At Silicon Valley Facility Services, we focus on products and practices that improve air quality and significantly reduce the amount of persistent chemicals that can build up over time. We use only GS-37 (Green Seal) products. Depending on the needs of your facility, we can successfully reduce the number of cleaning products used to a only a few, all natural GS certified products.

For example, many of our customers have switched to a single hydrogen peroxide based cleaner as well as plant-based surfactants. These use no petroleum-derived ingredients, no bleach, no alcohol, no ammonia, no phosphates, and no fuming solvents. As a result, these products and others like them emit no noxious fumes or volatile organic chemicals (VOCs).

Human health and safety:• Since building maintenance crews are frequently exposed to chemicals in cleaning products, preference is given to products that minimize risks to human safety. Silicon Valley Facility Services avoids products that are highly toxic, flammable, or prone to cause serious skin irritation and respiratory problems.

ecological stressors:• Because the chemicals in many cleaning products end up in local wastewater systems, preference is also given to products that minimize the impact on our environment. We focus on using hydrogen peroxide and plant-based ingredients and avoid phosphates and substances that contribute to ozone depletion.

Daytime Cleaning:• In some cases, companies may decide to have our cleaning staff clean primarily during daytime hours. This reduces electricity consumption for nighttime lighting.

recycling:• Our recycling programs make sure discarded paper is recycled and that there is adequate receptacles for employees to dispose of various types of recyclable items. From break room recycling bins, to in office recycling that helps separate paper, aluminum, and glass; we make sure we develop a comprehensive recycling program at all our facilities.

vacuuming: • We only use backpack vacuums that are ergonomically designed and efficient for employees to use. These vacuums cut down on the time to vacuum and therefore use less electricity. They virtually eliminate dust that’s blown around by inefficient vacuums, and they use filtration systems that capture 99.9% of particles one micron or smaller.

our Commitment and Corporate Benefits

Our team is committed to your Green goals. Since every facility is unique, our Green programs are customized to meet each facility’s needs.

Besides doing a service to the environment, our Green programs can generate a cash back bonus opportunity for your facility. Depending on the area, our team works with recyclers to get real money back to you for all recycled materials.

Our Green cleaning products and practices count for LEED-EB credits. By implementing a cleaning program that addresses staffing, training, appropriate GS Certified products, and efficient equipment, these credits can be earned for your building.

Glove Programs

white glove program

The white glove has long been used as a symbol for world class cleaning. Dust at the tip of a finger is unacceptable when one is trying to achieve a level of service that is second to none.

When a customer selects Silicon Valley Facility Services, they are automatically enrolled in Our White Glove Program. This program is designed to spot check a facility for cleanliness and overall excellence.

The program is a symbol of our dedication to making sure the job is done right. Monthly or quarterly, depending on your schedule, we will walk your facility with you to inspect cleanliness and overall level of service. During that walk through, we will test our services by taking a white glove to multiple surfaces throughout the facility. This detailed inspection is routinely performed by our supervisors and is our way of reaching the highest level of cleanliness.
