September 1964, SVELT started production of the first patented folding steel scaffolding. Quick assembly and ease of use soon suggested the name SVELT for our company (in Italian means FAST). This name became synonymous of scaffoldings and ladders, and dynamism is the basis of our production philosophy. In the ‘70s, SVELT promoted the distribution of scaffoldings all around our country with a very personal identity, and consolidated in the ‘80s, when the Italian word “TRABATTELLO” (scaf-folding) was officially included in the most important Italian dictionaries. From that moment on “facade scaffolding”

Ladders and scaffoldings since 1964Our products have been designed and manufactured with great care thanks to our long experience in this field. Moreover, Official Labs have tested and certified them in compliance with quality and safety rules, both Italian and European. Our chief aims are the best quality of the products along with the highest safety for the users. All Svelt products conform to the specific technical standards con-cerning safety in manufacturing and use. Modern trademarks and certificates confirm that our products are of the first-rate and under-gone project and quality tests.

Ladders are produced according to the European Standards EN131-1-2-3-4-6-7. They are tested by an Official Lab, recognised by the Ministry of Labour.

Stools are produced according to the European Standards EN14183. They are tested by an Official Lab, recognised by the Ministry of Labour.

Scaffoldings are produced according to the European Standards EN1004. They are tested by an Official Lab, recognised by the Ministry of Labour.

Machines are produced according to the European Standards. They are tested by an Official Lab, reco-gnised by the Ministry of Labour.

Standard specification of parts

The following specification of parts concerns different models of ladders. Each model is suitable for a specific need.•SLIDING WHEELS: they help the upward movement of ladders when leant onto walls.•BASE STABILISER: it allows the greatest stability if the ladder is used as a stepladder.•WRENCH FOR STABILISER FASTENING AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR STABILISER ASSEMBLY: they enable

assembling stabilisers without any tool.•NYLON REINFORCEMENT INSIDE STABILISER SEAT: it prevents the seat from changing shape when the

stabiliser is not inserted and increases the seat life when the stabilisers is inserted.•ALUMINIUM OPENING SYSTEM: it is elastic and resistant even at low temperatures. Its particular design allows

easy opening of ladders when used as stepladders. It is rustproof and unbreakable.•BARS PREVENTING UNCONTROLLED LADDER CLOSURE AND OPENING: they are compulsory when a

ladder is used as a stepladder as they stop the uncontrolled opening and closure of the ladder.•ANTI-OPENING STRAPS: they are compulsory when a ladder is used as a stepladder as they stop the uncontrolled

opening of the ladder.•RUBBER NON-SLIP FEET: they assure the greatest adherence to ground and walls.•DEVICE TO STOP UNCONTROLLED UPWARD MOVEMENT: it stops the uncontrolled ladder closure and move-

ment both during use and transportation.•EXTENSION BLOCKING DEVICE: it blocks the ladder from moving when the safety limit is reached.•INSTRUCTION MANUAL: it shows the proper use of ladders.•LABELS BEARING INSTRUCTIONS AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE: they show the proper use of ladders and

the date of manufacture.•FLANGED RUNGS: three-phase flanging (frame inner-side swelling, frame outer-side flanging and swelling inside

the frame) enabling to link the rung to the frame like a sandwich. This is long-lasting with no torsion of the ladder parts.

•RIBBED FRAME: this frame is more resistant than the non-ribbed frame. Therefore the frame section can be narrower making the ladder lighter.

The De Luxe range of Heavy Duty ladders is made of a high quality ribbed extruded aluminium, manufactured with an advanced automatic flanging method (the rungs are fixed to the ladder profiles with a “sandwich” system) giving great strength and long-lasting performance. It conforms to European standard EN131.

Light and resistant single section ladder provided with ergonomic and reinforced rubber feet on all 4 ends which are fixed through a rivet. This new method helps avoiding their loss and the ladder can also be used upside down.

Special Rubber FeetSpecial foot design allows a safe point of support to the wall and to the ground surface and reduces the possibility of the ladder slipping.

Patented adjustable base stabilser standard on Luxe 2 and Luxe 3Constructed in strong but lightweight aluminium, this system allows adjustment on uneven ground, ensu-ring easy safe operation with the lad-der. Two strong pins allow the user to level the ladder. When the ladder is extended in a narrow operating area, the ladder can be used without the sta-biliser. The reinforced feet lift the base stabiliser to 45 mm so the ladder can be used even where there are stones or other small obstacles.

Total max extension of the stabili-ser is 16 cm (lock every 2 cm).

Device to prevent third section overturning (LUXE 3). It prevents uncontrolled slipping of the ladder from the user’s hand, and falling of the third section during extension of the ladder when used as a stepladder.

Flanged, ribbed and ergonomic rungs. Three-phase flanging (rungs are fixed with a “sandwich” system) for a long lasting: 1 and 2. Frame inner side swelling, frame outer side flanging and 3 swelling inside the frame. Safe and easy use is therefore ensured by a flat stable rung for the user granting greater ease and productivity. There is no cutting into the foot as in traditional square rungs which form a diamond shape causing uncomfortable use.

Access ladder with wide steps, which fits to different heights in yards or on machineries.It is made of extruded ribbed aluminum with self-leveling steps.It allows comfortable access to different yard levels with stable hold both on the ground and on the access point. The ladder is equipped with left and right handrails and guardrails. The operator can safely climb and descend and up to an inclination of 45° he can do it freehand de-scending with his face forward. The lower feet are PVC and adjustable to fit to the ground granting great stability.To modify access height, the climbing ramp changes in-clination keeping the steps always in horizontal positionThe support parts on both levels have some holes so the operator can temporarily fix the ladder to avoid acciden-tal moves. The ladder is designed also for walkway on roofs and inclined shingles. The minimum height is mm 1200 and the following ones are multiples of mm 300.

Each step is firmly welded to the frame.The front side is wide and easy to climb and it is strongly inclined (55°), so that climbing becomes easier thanks to both the non-skid reinforced steps (20-cm wide with a distance of 23 cm one from the other) and to the large handrail. The back of the ladder is perpen-dicular to the ground, allowing the user to approach a wall or a shelf front onwards.The automatic braking system becomes operative when the lad-der is open for use. Loft ladders manufactured according to laws in force for civil domestic use. They can be opened and closed with a simple movement thanks to the balance springs and can be installed in few minutes. For assembling, it is enough to put the close ladder in the loft opening and block it in the upper part with 4 clamps and 4 screws (supplied) which hook the ladder to the slab. No masonries are needed and assembling can be done directly by the end-user (detailed instruction supplied). All steel components are galvanized. SAFETY SHOE KIT is a universal anti-slip device made of rubber and can be fixed to all lean-to wall ladders (including telescopic multipurpose and combination lad-der).
