AskedaleNestled quietly in open countryside, not very far from Spalding, is the delightful rural village of Sutton St James, and is the location for this remarkable dwelling. Commissioned and built by Terry and Michelle in 1997, it has proved to be an outstanding home for themselves and their daughters.

“We love the aspect and open surroundings of the house, together with its convenience for local amenities, including shops and schools, and we are within easy reach of everything required for our busy family life. Nearby there is a farm shop where we can purchase a whole range of locally produced quality food, but Spalding is very close for a more comprehensive choice of shops, plus outstanding sport and leisure facilities. The town also is renowned for its popular Tulip Parade which takes place each May. As we do quite a large amount of business travel, we find the short trip into Peterborough to catch the train into Kings Cross, very convenient. When required we are able to reach all parts of the country so easily.”

Askedale is, indeed, a beautiful home, with space and rooms for every conceivable purpose and one designed to provide a comfortable, luxurious, home, oozing with style, charm. However, it is, first and foremost, a home in which a stress-free family life takes precedence.

“Our versatile living and dining area is perfect for relaxing in front of a roaring fire on cold winter days, or when doors are thrown open wide in the summer, somehow bringing the garden inside. It is, however, the perfect setting for many sociable gatherings with friends and family.”

“The large ‘cinema’ room is a favoured area, with the built in console being particularly popular with our daughters and their friends to enjoy films and computer games.”

“Another special place for us is our balcony, leading out from our landing. It provides us with a beautiful outlook and, when possible, we do enjoy our early morning tea here, especially in the springtime with the early morning bird chorus.”

Our house is surrounded by its enormous garden which has been professionally landscaped to meld into the surrounding open countryside. Encompassed by mature trees, it is an incredibly relaxing space in which to switch off from busy days.”

“This has been a fabulous home for us and we have only happy memories to take away with us.”*
