This event is not a qualifier to compete at State Fashion Revue, but it is another oppor-
tunity to participate at the sectional level.
Family, friends, leaders and members turned out for the annual Fashion Revue and watched participants model garments they made or purchased. All participants were winners as they presented the “total picture” of their fashion knowledge and skills. It will be a whole new experience!
“Mini-workshops” will consist of presentations focusing on animal project topics such as nutrition/health, showman-ship, body parts/cuts of meat, fitting/grooming, etc. for each animal species, along with still exhibit workshops. The 4-H Club who donates the most food items in both Yuba and Sutter counties will receive a free ice cream sundae party
at their next community meeting!
Kayla Woods, Yuba County’s Washington Focus Delegate, is request-ing all 4Hers in Yuba and Sutter counties, to join her in a massive food drive as a part of her service learning project. She challenges each 4-Her to bring food items to her Food Drop-Off Booth at Spring Fair on Saturday, May 9th. Preferred food items include canned fruits and vegetables, tuna, soups, pork and beans, and macaroni and cheese.
Food items will be donated to local food distribution organiza-tions, such as Christian Assistance Network.

Minutes Summary: March 12th Council Meeting • Spring Fair: Budget was approved. Cal and Wash-
ington Focus participants will have a food booth. • 4-H Camp: Camp week will be held June 22-25,
2009. Council approved to pay for lifeguard certifi-cation for two leaders ($170 each) if no other certi-fied lifeguards/leaders agree to attend.
• Cal/Washington Focus Assistance: The Council approved to have participants develop a fundrais-ing plan. The Council will match their fundraising up to 10% of the cost of their registration fees. Par-ticipants may request additional funds if a hard-ship arises.
• Fashion Revue Budget: Council passed revision • Senior Awards: Council passed to provide a $150
award to a member from each county who is a Sen-ior in High School.
• Council Officers: Council passed allowing the current officers to run for office again in 2009-2010 for their second term.

Browns Valley 4-H Club After learning a lot at the Bi-County Goat Day and Horsemanship Clinic, the Browns Valley 4H Club is gearing up for another busy month. Our members are busy preparing for Fashion Re-view and Spring Fair. We are also getting our record books in order so that we can turn them in looking neat for our May judging. On April 19th, we will be visiting two local rest homes with our well-groomed and well-mannered animals. We love seeing the smiles that our animals produce, and enjoy the opportunity to provide community service. Submitted by Rachael Goforth
Dententer 4-H Club communication project has reviewed the following two movies: Tinkerbell: Appreciating who you are. By Emily Dyer, Sarah Shurtz, Abbie Chavez, and Faith Fonseca Should someone watch this movie? Yes. I say yes because it's fun for all ages and it is a great movie. It made you feel good. In the movie, Tinkerbell wants to be something else besides a tinker. She, also, wants to go to the mainland. When she ruins all of the preparations for Spring, she uses her tinker skills and fixes everything. She finds she likes being a tinker. She even gets to go to the mainland. Tinkerbell was great, funny, and cute. She make us laugh really hard. I say the movie was funny and a great family film. Horton Hears a Who: A Good Movie. By Zach Willert, Cory Willert, Evan Willert, Mi-chael Shurtz, Robert Shurtz, and Sarah Shurtz. "Horton Hears a Who" is a good movie. It's about Horton, a speck, people on the speck (the who), a kangaroo and the other animals in the jungle. In the jungle of Nool, Horton tries to get a speck that has Whos on it to a safe place. The kangaroo gets other animals to try take the speck to de-stroy it because she doesn't believe that there is anyone on the speck. The mayor of Whoville is trying to make the people of the town believe that Horton is trying to protect them. Horton is very funny. Everything is solved in the end. It was a happy movie. It was adventurous. It is a movie that everyone should to see.
Pleasant Grove 4-H Club The Pleasant Grove 4-H club had there monthly meeting on April 2nd. We went over regular Club business, got to have a great Easter Egg hunt and had a surprise visitor...the Easter Bunny!! Our next meeting is on May 13th at Pleasant Grove School.

HELP WANTED! Camp Counselors and Chaperones
Camp Counselors: Must attend the planning meetings. If you cannot make the meetings, please call Mary Hall at 743-2490 to be included in the scheduling.
Camp Chaperones: All clubs need to provide chaperones for 4-H Summer Camp for the youth attending from their club. The ratio is 1 adult for every 10 campers. So, if 5 boys and 8 girls registered from the same club, the club would need to provide one male and one female chap-erone. There must also be 1 chaperone for each primary member in attendance.
Policy does not permit admitting more youth than there is sufficient supervision by an adequate number of chaper-ones. Clubs can encourage leaders to serve as chaperones by paying their camp registration fee.
All chaperones must be 25 years of age, be enrolled in 4-H, have their finger prints CLEARED, and attend a camp chaperone orientation on Monday, June 15th at 6:30 pm @ the 4-H Office.

Each County in CA will carry a special county banner at the 2009 State 4-H Field Day opening ceremony!
• Each Sutter/Yuba 4-H club may submit a banner design that represents our counties.
• The council will embroider the winning design onto a felt banner and it will be carried at the State 4-H Field Day.
• The design must include the name “Sutter-Yuba Coun-ties”. The background must be a dark green color. The dimensions of the final banner will be 30” wide at the top and approximately 35” long at the longest point.

The 4-H State Leadership Conference brings together over 400 high school youth from across California in a four day leadership training, networking, and learning experience. The Conference provides advance leadership training for high school 4-H members. The conference focuses on pro-viding high school youth with experiential education on
leadership development, civic engagement, college admis-sions and other 4-H project areas.
