Rep. F. James Sensenbrenneroffered a grim assessment ofAmerican foreign policy during aTown Hall meeting in MenomoneeFalls May 16.
“Our foreign policy is a mess. We’re not respected anymore,”Sensenbrenner said.
Sensenbrenner said PresidentBarack Obama “is making a hugemistake” in trying to negotiate anuclear deal with Iran, whichSensenbrenner said would notdelay Iran from developing anuclear weapon.
“The world is a lot less safe andI think the President is going to bejudged both by history as well ashis party and his supporters by thevoters in an unfavorable light nextyear,” Sensenbrenner said.
As news reports emerged overthe weekend about ISIS taking con-trol of Ramadi, a Menomonee Fallsresident referenced US efforts totake control of Ramadi in Iraq in

A new FedEx Ground facility is a fewmonths away from being completed inMenomonee Falls.
The facility is currently under construc-tion on the south side of County Line Road, just east of Pilgrim Road. The MenomoneeFalls Plan Commission granted an industrialuse approval for the facility at its May 6,2014 meeting.
The facility is just over 200,000 squarefeet and includes approximately 194,000square feet of distribution and 8,600square feet for an of fice area.
When contacted earlier this month, aspokesperson from FedEx Ground said thenew facility will be completed by August.
"The new facility will join an existingstation in the Milwaukee area, allowing usto continue to meet and exceed customerdemands in the region. When the newfacility opens, some employee positions
will move from the existing station, and wewill add to the overall area workforce as
necessary to support increased demandfor service," the FedEx spokesperson stat-ed.
The spokesperson added that the sitewas chosen because of ease of access tomajor highways, proximity to customer dis-tribution centers and a strong communityworkforce for recruiting employees.
"The new facility is part of a nationwidenetwork expansion to boost daily packagevolume capacity and further enhance the

2006 and said he was “wondering whatcan you tell me that would restore my faithin our commander in chief that prior actionswill not be in vain.”
“I think I’m probably the wrong personto ask,” Sensenbrenner said in response. He then said the security situation stemmedfrom the failure to secure a “Status ofForces” agreement with the Iraqi govern-ment several years ago.
“We had a complete pull out of ourtroops because the administration was notable to reach what is called a ‘Status of
Forces’ agreement with the elected Iraqigovernment on how our forces would bestationed there and under what circum-stances, and as a result all of the troopswere pulled out,” Sensenbrenner said. “Idon’t think there was any surprise on thepart of those of us who felt we knew whatwas going to happen, and it did happen.”
Sensenbrenner said President Obama“did learn his lesson” in Afghanistan, wherethere a Status in Forces agreement that wasworked out with the US and Afghan gov-ernment, where there will be a residual USforce kept in the country.
“If we had a Status of Forces agreementin Iraq, I don’t think we would be in the
position we are in,” Sensenbrenner said.Sensenbrenner also recalled that
Obama referred to ISIS as “the junior varsi-ty” as the movement began to emerge as athreat to stability several years ago.
“He had one line after the other afterthe other drawn in Syria, and he never real-ized who the real enemy was,”Sensenbrenner said. “Now I’m not here tosay the government of Bashir al-Assad inSyria is anything to instill confidence in, butat the same time this country has done a lotof its foreign policy based on the notion that‘the enemy of our enemy has got to be ourfriend.’ Bashir al-Assad was the enemy ofISIS and it seems to me that as distasteful asit may have been, you have to figure outwhich enemy is more dangerous and whichenemy has to be destroyed first and theadministration made a big mistake.”
Later during the meeting, a residentmentioned a bill that was passed in theHouse of Representatives that would giveCongress the power to review and possiblyapproved or reject any nuclear-related dealwith Iran. Sensenbrenner said the presidentmay sign the bill “because it passed (inCongress) overwhelmingly and presidentsdo not like vetoes overridden, on anything, for any president.”

About 60,000 students will graduatefrom Wisconsin public high schools in thecoming weeks. Those graduates, theirfamilies, and friends have much to cele-brate. High school graduation is a mile-stone, a transition in life.
Most of our 2015 graduates are orwill soon be 18-years-of-age, the mark ofadulthood in the United States and manyother countries. But as those of us whohave reached and surpassed the age ofmajority, leaving high school and beingan adult doesn’t mean the end of educa-tion. Successful people will tell you, theynever stop learning. And, if the class of2015 is like those before it, about 60 per-cent of our graduates will continue theireducation at a two- or four-year collegeor university in the fall. Others will pursuepostsecondary studies later. With a worldeconomy that demands some educationbeyond high school for most family-sup-porting jobs, our graduates’ level of con-tinuing education is good news. Whetherheaded toward postsecondary studies,an apprenticeship or training program, military service, or the workforce, I hopeour 2015 graduates keep learningthroughout life.
