    METHODOLOGYResearch Design- DescriptiveSampling technique- convenienceSampling Unit Individual entities (READERS).Sample Size 100 readers were interviewed for the

    study.Method of Data CollectionThe primary data in this study was collected form the

    readers through direct communication. For thispurpose questionnaires method were used.

    Secondary data like addresses of readers, characteristic

    features of various sections of the newspaper,circulation information, etc. have been collected fromHindustan Times office.

    Survey Research Instrument As stated above inthis project mainly questionnaires were adopted as asurvey research instrument.

    FINDINGSMajor finding of are:

    A large part of readers i. e. 45% readers are Govt-employees. Maximum readers are of age group 21-50.. 28% readers are taking Times of India with Hindustan Times. Only 65% readers have rated the Front page as excellent. Many readers want main news in short stories. Many readers told that Times of Indias editorial is better. Readers are satisfied with Sports section but they want more update

    news. Some readers want this section in last of the newspaper likeTOI.

    Students want more International news. A large no. of readers is not satisfied with commercial news. Some Readers say that TOIs ASSCENT is better. HORIZON is good but readers want an extra section especially for

    Children in main newspaper. Readers want more detailed news about Properties specified in HT

    ESTATES.

    There is a demand of separate section in main page specially forchildren.

    SUGGESTIONS All important news should also be mentioned in form of

    Short stories on the front page. Social welfare advertisements should be on front page in

    spite of commercial advertisements.HT World sections Readers satisfaction level is not up to the

    mark, so it needs more improvement in the coverage areaand internationals news contents.

    HT Business section needs improvement; its coverage areashould be broadened which could fulfill the requirementsof corporate persons.

    HT Power jobs supplement should be more detailedinformative. As this supplement is not catering the need ofevery age group and persons having average or below

    average qualifications; so it should be altered accordingly.Overall standard of news content should be improved andmade more interesting.

    A separate section should be in main page specially forchildren.

    CONCLUSION On the basis of the analysis of the data found

    in survey, it can be concluded that a major partof readers are satisfied from the recentchanges in the Hindustan Times. Mostly

    readers are accepting and appraising thepresent version of the newspaper and there isa big demand for a special column in mainnewspaper specially for children.
