Clinic and 17 Pediatric Sub-specialty clinics in 3 locations. 36,000 visits/year.
• Integrated Pediatric Afterhours Clinic, combining 2 medical groups and clinical staff from 2 organizations. • Piloted programs of same-day urgent care access for pediatric specialty clinics, onsite pediatric phlebotomy.

1995–2000 Kaiser Genetics Department Oakland, CA Department Manager • General management of clinical genetic services, cytogenetic laboratory, fetal pathology, Regional perinatal
screening and tracking programs, and multidisciplinary pediatric specialty clinic services.
• Develop and monitor $9.4 million dollar budget.
• Developed methodology for the Regional Allocation model for the Northern California Regional Genetics Department, including definition and monitoring of internal benchmarks for 6 functional work areas, fiscal and quality reporting to the Allocation Oversight Committee of Kaiser Northern California.
• Designed the Regional Breast Cancer Tracking program, ensuring that all NCAL women with a positive breast biopsy or high-risk mammogram receive their care points within the recommended time frame. Program included Paradox-based PC application supported by multiple mainframe data sources.
• Developed Patient Satisfaction benchmark data analysis for Pediatric Multispecialty Clinics in compliance with overall Kaiser and California HMO criterion. Achieved 92% patient ratings of “Excellent or Good.”
• Utilize participatory management processes, soliciting staff input from all levels to create a cohesive department with improved staff morale. Processes include: Employee Recognition Program, cross-disciplinary information sessions, staff QA program, and Peer Review.
• Monitor compliance for all genetic services with appropriate regulatory bodies including the State Genetic Disease Branch, Prenatal Diagnosis Center Guildelines and CLIA.
1991-1995 Kaiser Genetics Department Oakland, CA Supervisor Regional Perinatal Screening and Multispecialty Clinics • Directed 4 Regional screening programs and 5 multispecialty clinics.
• Created multiple computerized tracking systems for screening programs, utilizing mainframe-based data downloaded to PC-based computer systems.
