Committee for Professionalism and Integrity for Industrial Engineers (Spring 1997 – Fall 1998 ) Established a committee of undergraduate students to describe guidelines for professional behavior, give talks to incoming IE students, and publish a brochure.

Executive Officer of Undergraduate Industrial Engineering Program (1987-1990) Oversee the advising and registration for all undergraduate students. Advise all transfer and 5-year undergraduate students.

Curriculum Development:

MS option in Information Technology: Led new MS program through approval process; program started in Fall 2002.

B.Tech and M.Tech Degree Programs in Quality Engineering at Peninsula Technikon, Bellville South Africa: Served as consultant and facilitator to developing advanced level Quality Engineering programs, obtaining government approvals, organizing introductory workshops, arranging for an industrial advisory board and industrial advisors for student projects and theses. Programs officially offered for the first time – June 2001 with a class of 23 students from various industries including textiles and spinning, food processing, printing, automotive assembly, health care, and tourism.

MS option in Quality and Reliability Engineering: Developed option in cooperation with the Statistics Department, AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Bell Communications Research RCA; program started in Fall 1987.

Total Revision of Undergraduate I.E. Curriculum: (1982-1985) Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. Organized revision of the undergraduate curriculum. Introduced four new courses; revised and renamed nine courses; resequenced the curriculum; took program through the approval process.

Introduced Graduate Seminar Course: Integration of Quality and Production Engineering. Introduced in 1989.

Development of Quality Engineering Laboratory: Received approval for new 1 credit undergraduate laboratory course in Spring 1992. This is a co-requisite for the required undergraduate course Quality Engineering

Mathematics course for IE Doctoral students: Worked with Prof. Terry Butler of Mathematics department to design course; course was taught in Fall 1996 and 1997 under special problems. Course will be approved in Spring 1998 under it’s own number.
