taking on an Atlantic worldrecord rowing attemPt in aidof a hospice which cared forhis father.

Olenicz, 19, n'ill attemPt tolor,r' 3,000 miles from theCanary Islands to Antigua as
part of the 2015 Talisker\\4riskey Atlantic Challenge.
The friends met at BristolUniversity, where theY arepart of the rowing team andtrain twice a day, six daYs a
week.Now they are hoPing to be-
come the youngest pair tocomplete the Atlantic race'
"I have been thinkingabout it for quite a whilei'said Callum, who is also a GB
junior rower."lt is one of the things I
have always rvanted to do."The plan originally was to
do it once I finished mY de-gree, but I thought I could fe-alistically take mY third Yearout and try to get a worldrecord. It is going to be reallYhard, but I am verY enthusi-astic about taking it on. Itcould take up to 90 days.
"Some guYs who have
done it in the Past hit weatherso bad theY were driftingbackwards for weeks. It is
quite common for comPeti-tors to retire in the first fewdays hecause theY are iustnot used to the weather."
Callum, who rows at
Walton rowing club, said heand ]ay will have to get some
TerryHabgoodsAr4rm2experience rowing in the sea,
and make sure they knowevery inch of their boat.
The former George AbbotSchool pupil said some cross-ings had failed because theboat's water decontaminatorhad stopped working and theteam did not know how to fixit.
"We are raising moneY forthree charities, the PrincessAlice Hospice, BraceAlzheimer's charity, andBrain Tumour Research]'Callum said.

Surrey CountY Counciland the EnvironmentAgency launched a ioint in-vustigation after a l;idden
no wrong-doing. In fact, itconcluded that the contrac-tors were cleaning or 'jetting'the stream, which is also a
storm drain, using clean wa-ter from a hose on the tank.
