PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Principal ObjectiveTo contribute to the disaster risk reduction measures in Nepal through community based disaster preparedness initiatives for enhancing community resilience

Specific ObjectiveTo strengthen capacities of community and local institutions for reducing impact of disasters and ensuring rights of disaster vulnerable people

•The basis of problem solving is continuous dialogue with the concerned groups or individuals, and being transparent of the interventions

•The process of meaningful participation and involvement takes long time; however it brings good result, and ownership of the task

•The indirect involvement of disaster focal persons of government stakeholders increases the response or accountability towards DRR initiatives

•We can achieve great result if we aware, encourage, support and follow up to the community on their self initiation.

•To bring effective result through participatory approach, we need to work out in small cluster; otherwise participation can be mess.

•The blanket approach in project implementation does not always work; the dealing should be different with different people in the community

•Timely completion of the project activities since more time requires in the process

•Quicker price hike in the construction materials •The telephone and transportation network is not good in the Banke area; the condition will further decline in rainy season; hence delaying in decision making and communication.
