Sura aal –Imraan (The Family of Imraan):

“ … and remember your Lord much and glorify Him in

the evening and in the early morning.”

“Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting and lying on their sides…” [3:41, 191]

Zikr polishes the heart and is the source of Divine

breath that revives the dead sprits by filling them with the Blessings of Allah, decorating them with His

Attributes and bringing them from a state of heedlessness to the state of complete wakefulness. If

we keep busy with ZikrulAllah, happiness and peace

will be granted to us. Zikr is the key to happiness, and Divine Love.

Dhikr can be done either silently or aloud. The number

of repetitions is not for the sake of the account itself, but it is for securing the heart from bad thoughts and

it helps to concentrate more. The number of repetitions in the Khatam is to be performed in

congregation; one can set the number of repetition for individual Zikr.

(Please note that in this Khatam certain elements have

been expanded to facilitate coherent understanding in English Language. Furthermore, in Supplication (Du’a)

elements have been added as recited by Syed S. Zoha)

Supplication (Du’a):

The Following Du’a is recited by our Blessed Shaykh

Sofi Muzzaffar Ali Sahib (Lahore, Pakistan).

O Allah I implore your Infinite Mercy, please accept

this Khatam in Your Court. I present the blessings of

this Khatam as a present, a gift, as a countenance in

the Sacred presence of The Messenger of Allah (Allah

bless him and give him peace). Through the blessings

of The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give

him peace) I present the blessings of the Khatam to

all the souls of Anbia (Prophets) [Allah’s Blessings be

upon them all], Shu’hada (Martyrs) and the Sali’heens

(The Pious Ones). Further, I present its blessings to

all the souls of the Khawajgan of the Naqshbandiyya,

Qadriya, Chishtiya, Suharwardiyya, Firdaousiyya and

Uwaisiyya. I present it to all the souls of the believing

men Mu’mi’neen, believing women Mu’mi’naat; to all

the submitting men Musli’meen and submitting

women Mus’li’maat. To all the Muslim men, women

and jinnat who have lived’ are living and will live.

I present the blessings of the Khatam to the souls of

Sayyidunnaa Shah Baha’Ud Din Naqshband,

Sayyidunnaa Ghawth Azam Shaykh Abd’ul Qadir al

Gilani al Hassani wal Hussaini, Sayyidunnaa Khawaja

Moin’Ud Din Chishti and Sayyidunnaa Shahab’Ud’Din

Suharwardi (R.A). Further I present the blessings of

the khatam to the blessed souls of Makhdoom Bihar

Sharfuddin Yahya Munairi, Pir Mohammed Hashim Jan

Sirhindi, Hazrat Fazal Ahmad Chishti Baba, Shah

Saheedullah Faridi, Syed Zawwar Hussain Shah,

Hazrat Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Molana Muntakhib

Hasan, O Allah elevate their ranks, bless us by

following their teaching and keep us in their company.

O Allah, I beseech you through your Infinite Mercy

that through the Baraka (goodness) of the Khatam

make all difficulties easy. O Allah protect us from the

attack of shaitan and zalimeen (evil transgressors). O

Allah protect us further from the attack of the ego

(nafs) and the desires of the world (dunya). O Allah

take us away from the door of others and keep us at

your door in your blessed countenance). Shift us away

from the presence of others and enable us to seek

Your (Majestic and Beautiful) Presence.

O Allah the brothers who are present and not, elevate them to their destined station. O Allah reform and

correct the Ummah of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace). O Allah have pity upon

state of Ummah of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace). Create amongst the Ummah

of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) a sense of understanding and

brotherhood.

O Generous Lord! Make the residents of this locality

virtuous. O Allah! have Mercy on the state of this locality. Grant harmony and understanding between

each other. O Allah instill within those unable to pray the ability to pray; within those who have no Zikr

(Remembrance of You) the ability to make Zikr; within those who have no Fikr (no worry or concern of their

deeds) the ability to reflect; bestow upon those who have no offspring pious and upright progeny.

O Allah! Those friends who ask us and write to us to

supplicate for them and render their service to us for Your Pleasure and those who travel far distances

seeking Your Pleasure, enrich them all openly and secretly.

na'ka khair'ur Ra'zi'keen. Wah'fiz'na -khair'ur Ra'hi'meen. War'zuq'na fa'in
