If you havent heard, our Phoenix Club Picnic has been postponed until Sunday, September 15th due to all of the inclem- ent weatherso please be sure to add the Phoenix Club Picnic to your must doin September. Congratulations to Andrew Lifka, the recipient for the John Popeye Miles Scholarship fund of $1000. Hard work does pay off! Here are some great summer time events that we hope youll enjoy in the month of July! On Saturday, July 13th please join us for Outdoor Bowling and Burgers and Chops. On Tuesday, July 16th, along with Burgers and Chops night, we will host another Business Expo (Membership Networking). Please sign up on the information board if you are interested in promoting your business. This is complimentary and we have limited space, so sign up soon. It truly is a great way to meet the members and share what you do and what your business can offer them whether it be home improvement, real estate, jewelry and so much more. July 21st its our Golf Outing and then on the 27th, its Family Outdoor Bowling and we will start at 6pm. As we look into the future and start to understand all of the tax increases going on in the state of Illinois, we will defi- nitely be watching how it will all affect the Phoenix Club. The Board has had a brief discussion on this topic and so we want to give you an early heads up that there is a great possibility of a member- ship dues increase in 2020. Speaking of membership, we are also talking about an early Membership Drive and different incentives for our members who bring in new membersso please stay tuned on whats in it for youif you bring in new members this fall. Its all happening before our Homecoming event in October. As a reminder, I will be away for the next several weeks so Craig Bonifas is taking the lead for me. Thank you Craig! LL: How long have you been a member? LMS: Martha 9 years and LeVada 6 years LL: Family? LMS: Just married 2 years (April 2017) LL: Favorite part about being a member at The Phoenix Club? LMS: The Draft Root Beer and the people LL: Drink of choice? LMS: The Draft Root Beer LL: Where do you work and what do you do for them? LMS: Martha is a Project Manager for ICUL (Illinois Credit Union League) and LeVada works for True Green LL: Best part of your job? LMS: Martha said working with the people and LeVa-da said, the freedom he has and being self motivated LL: Favorite pastime? LM: Playing basketball and video games P.S. If they could win the gold in the Winter Olympics they both said it would be the gold medal in Curling. If they had to choose their last meal... Martha said, Grandma White’s dumplings and LeVada said his Mom’s pork chops and gravy. Martha said her first concert was Rascal Flats and LeVada said his favorite movie is “Coming to America”.
