November 5, 2007 Supplier Quality Alert: # 204 Attention: Sikorsky Suppliers Issue: Silicone Contamination

It is important to note that “Return To Flight ” / “Breast Cancer Awareness” and other types of Silicone Wrist Bands being worn by personnel to show support of worthy causes exhibit the potential to introduce Silicone Contamination into manufacturing / process operations through sweating, handling, and other types of cross contamination. Silicone has been identified to be extremely detrimental to Composite Bonding, Electronic Soldering / Conformal Coating and Paint processes. Should you observe these types of bands being worn by personnel where these types of operations are occurring, precautions should be taken to eliminate the potential of “Silicone Cross Contamination” in your own or your subcontractor’s facilities.
