WELCOME

2 The 3rd Annual A&D Supply Chain Awards The 3rd Annual A&D Supply Chain Awards 23

I am pleased and excited to welcome you to this 3rd annual Aerospace and Defense Supply Chain Awards Event. I am also pleased to see so many fine sub-tier suppliers finally recognized for their outstanding efforts to accelerate improvement.

I want to say a word to semi-finalists and finalists. There are over 30,000 suppliers in this country. There are less than 100 semi-finalists here tonight who represent the judge’s choices from over 280 nominations. Whether you win the award tonight or not, you are among the few and the rare breed of supplier who has distinguished yourself

by making an uncommon investment in improvement. In many cases the difference between the announced winners, finalists, and semi-finalists is very small. Your company should be proud no matter how you come out tonight. We believe that all finalists are “winners” tonight and we will strive to maintain that tradition as we promote excellence over the years within our sub-tier supply base.

Remember that SEA is prime-empowered and supplier-led. You are a part of this growing community and have every chance to continue your participation, and to continue to gain recognition for that participation.

Thank you to everyone for your participation tonight in honoring these fine companies and individuals.

Sincerely,Michael G. BeasonChairman, CEO

On behalf of the esteemed members of the Supplier Advisory Council, I want to acknowledge and congratulate the finalists who have made it this far. I also want to encourage those suppliers who are not yet involved in SEA to get involved and let SEA encourage your journey to excellence.

Sincerely,Marzel NeckienPresident, W. Machine Works, Inc.Chair, Supplier Advisory Council

Dear Attendees,

It is an honor to be a part of celebrating SEA’s third annual Defense & Aerospace Supply Chain Awards Conference and Gala. As an alliance, SEA members are committed to accelerating supply chain improvement. The many suppliers that have achieved a Semi-Finalist level this year evidence this commitment. Semi-Finalists are among the few and rare breed of suppliers who have distinguished themselves by making an uncommon investment in improvement. SEA Suppliers perform at the highest levels and collaborate to produce integrated supply chain solutions. The work we are up to changes the game for our industry and give us the opportunity to thrive, build collaborations and partnerships. It’s a privilege and honor to serve as your Executive Director in our sixth year of operation. I’m inspired working with visionary leaders on an industry transformation that makes a difference. Our staff has worked diligently to deliver a focused conference to ensure that our mission is served.

With Grace and Best Wishes,

Mickey WiebeExecutive Director, SEA

I have had an opportunity to speak with many of them during the nomination and application process and know that all have worked diligently to present their results and accomplishments.

Congratulations and good luck to you all!

David J. BlancoSEA Awards Chairman

SEA Awards Judging ProcessThe awards process began in April 2009 with a call for nominations sent to thousands of US aerospace and defense industry suppliers. Two hundred and eighty two nominations came in from our industry’s suppliers located all across the country. After an initial review for eligibility, the Panel of Judges, comprised of retired industry executives, independently reviewed and scored applications. A total of 70 applications were forwarded as semi-finalists and later, in a consensus meeting, completed the scoring process and selected the Award Finalists. At a second meeting, the judges selected the award recipients. Throughout the process, the company names were withheld and only application numbers were used for the review and final scoring.
