One-syllable adjectives
Form the superlative adjective by adding the + adj –est for
Example: Mary's car is larger than Lucy's car Adjective + er than (tall – the tallest / old – the oldest) Example: Mary is the tallest of the studentsIf the one-syllable adjective ends with an e, just add –st

If the one-syllable adjective ends with a single consonant with a vowel before it, double the consonant and add –est Example:My dog is the biggest in my family

Two-syllable adjectives
With most two-syllable adjectives, you form Superlative with the most. Example: 1-This morning is the most peaceful morning I have ever had 2-Max is the most careful driver I know

• If the two-syllable adjectives ends with –y, change the y to i and add –est
Happy –the happiest

• He isn't as good as me in Math (I am better than him)
• He is as tall as me (We have the same height)
