£ In comparison to AbsorbaTack™ fixation device.† Benchtop testing based on commercially available absorbable and permanent fixation devices, which include the
SECURESTRAP™*, SorbaFix™*, OptiFix™*, CapSure™*, ProTack™, and ReliaTack™ devices with standard purchase tacks when the shaft is angled at 30, 45, 65, and 90 degrees. ReliaTack™ Deep Purchase Tack shear pull test performed in synthetic foam. Results may not correlate to performance in animal or cadaveric tissue, or performance in humans.
§ Based on potential for eliminating contralateral ports and average savings when 31-50 tacks are needed.

ACCESS
When using the ReliaTack™ device, place trocars from 1 to 1.5 cm more lateral than normal. Lateral trocar placement and 65 degrees of articulation will allow you to fixatetheentiremeshfromthesamesideof the patient — and potentially eliminate contralateral ports.2
ARTICULATION
Formaximumfixationstrength,alwaysfirethedeviceat65degreestoensurethattacksarefiredperpendiculartothe mesh.1 When articulating to 65 degrees or straightening to zero degrees, stop rotating the articulation knob when youfeelresistanceintheknob.

TECHNIQUE GUIDECOUNTER PRESSURE AND FIRING
Usethefollowingsequence—touch,drop,fire—toachievethebestresultswiththeReliaTack™ device:
Position the distal tip of the device against the mesh where you want to place a tack.
Apply gentle downward pressure to the handle. Notice a slight indentation in the mesh.
STEP 1: TOUCH
Moderate external counter pressure is needed for adequate tack deployment in an articulated position.

STEP 3: FIRE
Give the device a controlled, complete squeeze to deploy the tack. You will hear a distinct click when the tack has been successfully deployed.
Articulation and screw-like tacks allow for strong fixation.Inthisphoto, youcanseethetensiononthe peritoneum as the tacks and mesh are pulled away from the abdominal wall.
Trigger is completely compressed.Firing sequence is completed.
Trigger is partially compressed.Firing sequence is not completed.
TECHNIQUE GUIDEFIRING THE DEVICE
Important: Do not push the handle forwardwhenfiring.Thiswillputunnecessary stress on the articulation point.

TECHNIQUE GUIDEELIMINATING CONTRALATERAL PORTS
Alwaysusefive-tackreloadswhenfixatingontheipsilateralsideofthemesh.Thefive-tackreload will give you maximum access to the ipsilateral side of the mesh due to the length of the reload, allowing you to deploy tacks perpendicular to the mesh and abdominal wall.
