The safety of our students must always be our number one priority. At mes the procedures in place are not always convenient for parents, but are needed for safety reasons. Please consider having your child sit on the passen- ger side of the car. This allows for a safe & quick exit from the car in the morning and helps us to place your child in the car quickly in the aſternoon. All drivers need to remain in the car & in the drivers seat. In the morning, please be sure to abide by the sign- age posted along Tampa Palms Blvd. Cur- rently, parents are not able to make a U-turn at Halsey from 7:30-8:30am and from 1:30- 2:30pm. Please follow the direcve of the sign. There have been cases of parents mak- ing the U-turn where the car turns around in the cross walk. This is very dangerous and puts our precious children at risk of injury. A few extra minutes in the car with your child is worth the safety of the children walking and riding bikes to school. The car line goes much quicker when we all follow the rules. Tampa Police and officials from the City of Tampa are also invesgang to determine if any other measures need to be taken in this area. Addionally, many parents are choos- ing to park in the neighborhood. Please re- frain from doing this. The families that live along that street should be able to enter and leave their house without incident. Comp-

Dear Families,

Happy 2016! We are looking forward to a successful second semester. Thank you for your support in working with the teachers and the administrative team to help create the very best foundation for your child’s suc-cess! Our character traits of the month for January are Fairness, Honesty and Trustwor-thiness.

Welcome to Our New Assistant Principal:

I am so excited to introduce our new Assis-tant Principal to you. Ms. Kristine Claffie comes to us from Bevis Elementary School. She has worked as a classroom teacher for the past 18 years. We are thrilled to have her join our Tampa Palms family!

STEM Fair Winners:

Our STEM Project showcase was a huge suc-cess. We had over 375 student projects on display. The quality of the work completed by our students was amazing! Congratula-tions to our STEM Fair winners. The follow-ing students will be participating in the dis-trict STEM Competition on February 9, 2016: Samantha Roberts, Oscar Olivera, Niral Gad-di, Kamaleldin Kamaleldin, JC Osterman, Ethan Heintz, Aryanna Joyette, Valli Ku-ruganti, Jake Roberts, Kiara Orbegoso, Avaneesh Venkatesh, Neel Patel, Ella Rivera and Brooke Evans. A big congratulations goes out to Ms. Davis’ kin-dergarten class, Mrs. Konicek & Mrs. Wes-ton’s first grade class and to Mrs. Schwarz-mann’s second grade AGP class. We are very proud of all of our young scientists!

Math Bowl Winners!

Congratulations to our fourth grade Math Bowl Team: Param Amre, Sarah Craig, Niral Gaddi, Shruthi Mohanraja, and Barry Zheng for placing second in the Area Math Compe-

tition. The strength of the team can be found in their ability to work together as a team and their fact fluency. Congratulations!

Thank you to Our SAC Business Partner:

A big thank you to the Kahn family for sup-plying Dairy Queen Dilly bars to the classes that read the most minutes during our Read-A-Thon. Through the Kahn family’s support, we are able to provide so many “extras” to our teachers and students throughout the school year. Thank you!
