SS-1oo SERIES MOTORS

Hand-built to perform... and last

A commitment to customer service

REULAND® — Handcrafting motors for over 9O years.

SS-100 Variable Frequency and Vector Duty Motors are hand built to out-perform and outlast the competition.

All castings are hand poured to ensure high quality

All internal connections are brazed and insulated for high reliability when used with Variable Frequency Drives

Each motor is hand wound for consistent high performance

Every motor is tested and properly balanced to ensure long lasting , low vibration performance and enhanced bearing life

In addition every SS-100 motor is rigorously tested and inspected throughout the manufacturing process for high reliability and consistent quality.

This hand built motor of extraordinary quality and performance is competitively priced and featured to compete with the high volume manufacturers in the industry.

The SS-100 Series motor is backed with a 3-year warranty (6- month storage/ 30 - month operational)

REULAND® is built on quality, knowledgeable customer service.

Experienced engineers and salespeople who will listen to you to find the proper solutions to your application requirements and concerns.

SS-100 Motors are ideal for many everyday applications from light industrial such as conveyor and light machinery to heavy industrial such as crane / hoist and moveable structure applications.

We have been hand crafting motors from our factories in the United States for over 90 years. Our SS-100 motors are a combination of experience, craftsmanship, and technology resulting in a quality product that outlasts and out performs the competition.

Built-In Benefits

MOTOR SPECIFICATIONS

SPECIFICATIONS BENEFITSLamination Custom laminations designed specifically for variable frequency applications.

Copper Conductors 200°C moisture-resistant magnet wire for additional quality and integrity.

Thermal ProtectorNormally closed thermal protector placed on the windings. Protector opens when winding reaches 150°C (Class H temperature), providing early warning detection circuit to improve safety and reliability of entire system.

Insulation System High-temperature Class H insulation to insure improved reliability. Designed specifically for high-frequency distortion up to 15KHz.

Varnish Multiple dips and bakes, 100% solids polyester varnish.

Phase Insulation Protection against phase-to-phase winding failures.

Enclosure

Three types: TENV (Non-Ventilated) with adequate frame size and materials for cooling; TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) External fan mounted to motor shaft providing the cooling required for the application parameters; A-TEFC (Auxiliary Fan Cooled) A constant velocity blower is provided to provide continuous cooling over the motor regardless of motor running speed.

Frame All motors are ribbed frame footed or footless cast construction of iron or aluminum to insure low noise and vibration as compared to rolled steel motors.

Mounting Standard NEMA foot-mounted construction. C-face, D-flange. Other mounting types available upon request.

Dynamic Balancing Motor operation allowable above base speeds with acceptable vibration levels. Increases bearing life and motor life.

Encoder All vector motors equipped with shaft-mounted incremental encoders.

Blower Voltages All A-TEFC motors equipped with 3 phase blowers. Single phase available.

AVAILABLE MODIFICATIONS

SPECIFICATIONS BENEFITS

Output Shaft Custom motor shaft to meet customer configuration and material requirements.

Output Mounting NEMA C-Face, D-Flange, IEC Din flange. Custom configurations to meet application requirements.

Thermal Protection Motors furnished as standard with (3) NC thermal protectors (1 per phase) PTC thermal protection can be supplied.

Bearing Protector

Shaft grounding provides a proven and reliable ground path to discharge the induced voltages from the VFD safely away from the (Shaft Grounding) motors bearings to ground, protecting the motor bearings from pitting, frosting, and fluting damage.

Brakes Motor mounted direct acting Reuland brakes up to 500 ft-lb. Customer specified brakes can be supplied upon request.

Heaters Strip type space heaters can be provided for extreme low temperature ambient or high humidity applications.

Ambient Conditions Extreme ambient treatment for protection in extreme environments such as Marine, Tropical, Extreme Temperatures, Etc.

Replacement Motors

Ability to manufacture new drop-in Inverter / Vector Duty Motor to replace obsolete motors where customer is converting from older technology to VFD driven motors while maintaining the original frame (mounting) of the existing motor.

High Speed

Vector duty motors built for high speed, low power, and low inertia, for high response machines and dynamometers. Hp ranges from 5hp through 600hp with design speeds up to 40,000rpm or higher (Please contact Reuland High Speed Motor Division for more information).

Lamination Custom-design laminations

Forced Air CoolingReduces the frame size and extends the motor’s duty cycle.

Fan ShroudDesigned to reduce the noise. The fan allows for air over totally enclosed operation and for encoder mounting.

Oversized Conduit BoxThis special box can be provided to house the encoder connections as well as all power connections. The encoder cable is connected to a terminal strip, and an electrostatic shield insulates the encoder from the power connections

EncodersThe standard Series 100 encoder improves reliability because it has fewer moving parts to fail. It is a shaft-through design that uses the motor bearings. Other encoders are available upon request.

Frames and End BoltsDesigns include cast ribbed frames to maximize heat dissipation. All Vector Class motors that permit encoder mounting have the drive end bearing locked to insure encoder reliability on footed and face -mounted motors.

Standard Conduit BoxMotors without encoders include Reuland’s standard cast conduit box. Its rugged design withstands the most demanding industrial applications.

About REULAND®

REULAND® traces its history back to the 1930’s when Frank Reuland, still in high school, rebuilt and repaired motors in his garage in Alhambra, California. The quality of his work attracted business to the extent that within four years, REULAND® was the largest repair shop in the area, employing ten electric motor repair journeymen. As the business grew, Frank enlisted the help of his brother, Howard, whose talent in management complemented Frank’s mechanical aptitude.

Today, REULAND® looks forward to continued growth through the manufacture of quality products and development of new technologies to meet the ongoing needs of its customers in an expanding market.
