Well we certainly started the new academic year with a

bang! Mad Science joined us for a day of experiments

based around our new theme topic of Superheroes!

Mad Science visited our school to launch our new theme

entitled

SuperheroesSuperheroesSuperheroesSuperheroes

We enjoyed a mind blowing whole school assembly where

Danni showed us lots of spectacular fire and ice experiments.

When it was time for our workshop we investigating

superhero powers, making our own ‘Toxic Waste’ slime and

exploring how superhero hover-boards work.

On the playground, we set off rockets using electricity and air

pressure.

We finished off our amazing day making sugar spiderman

webs,

(candy floss to the untrained human eye!)

Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Jaguar

Partnership Centre to support our new science topic on

Electricity.

We had great fun learning about conductors and

insulators and how to create circuits.

Then we continued our learning back at school,

producing electrifying writing, explaining how circuits

work.

During January Year 1 and 2 were honoured to welcome a

very important visitor; Coventry’s very own

Lady GodivaLady GodivaLady GodivaLady Godiva

She spent the afternoon with us teaching us the history of

Lady Godiva and Coventry. We had lots of acting and

dressing up fun.

We even got an appearance in the Coventry Times

newspaper!
