What is a Rotary Dresser?A Rotary Dresser is a high precision form toolconsisting of diamonds strategically positionedaround the periphery of a metal core and held inplace by a metal matrix. In use, these Rotarydressers are rotated by means of a precision spindleand either plunged into a grinding wheelimparting the form to be dressed or traversedacross the wheel to generate the desired form.Being accurate, Rotary dressers need carefulselection of the best quality diamonds and state-of-the-art precision equipment to manufacture andinspect the form on the dressers.

HOW TO ORDER?

DRESSER TYPESCDP Handset Layered PatternCDP Handset Dressers utilise a single layer ofdiamond set by hand around the periphery in aspe-cific interlocking pattern according toapplication. The diamond size and spacing isadjusted to suit the job. High wear areas like smallradii and corners are reinforced with stones usingvarious shapes. These are used for less accurateforms.

CDP Handset Random PatternCDP Random Set Dressers also have a single layerof random set diamonds. These dressers are similarto layered hand set but are suitable for lessaccurate profiles. However, some dressers can bebond relieved to project diamonds.

RPC Reverse Plated DressersAccuracies less than one micron can be producedon these dressers. These dressers are hencerecommended for high precision applications likebearing track grinding, turbine root profilegrinding, etc. Reverse Plated Dressers aremanufactured by a special precision electro-forming process. This process requires nofurnacing and hence requires little or very lessdiamond lapping to produce even very accurateprofiles. As the diamonds are not normallylapped they are very sharp. In this process highconcentration of diamonds are randomlydistributed. Diamond size can be varied to suitapplication.
