Zippering a coat takes dexterity and is a difficult skill. Many of the students now mastered the skill of zippering their coats. All classrooms have started a Zipper Club. When a child mastered zippering their coats; they were inducted to the Zipper Club. It was amazing to see the students become so excited to try and zip their coats. Many of the students who had mastered zippering their coats also helped their classmates with helpful tips to learn. Congratulations to all the students who have mastered the skills and join the Zipper Club. All teachers are so proud knowing how determined the students were at learning this difficult skill. Attendance is importantComing to school regularly and being on time are significant factors in the attitude your child will develop about school. Going to school can be compared with a parent going to work. The sense of responsibility and the establishment of a routine will help your child feel com-fortable and secure. A positive attitude about school and regular attendance will pay off for years to come. Being in school is especially important in preschool. It is hard to make up the kinds of hands-on activities that constitute the learning experiences. When your child is ill: When your child is ill, please call the office at 1-815-741-7275 ext 129 or email [email protected] and report your child’s absence. All absences are tallied. If your child becomes ill at school, he/she will be isolated and you or one of the names listed on the emergency card will be contacted. Please notify us immediately if any contact numbers change.

Health ProceduresThroughout the year, our preschoolers will contract flu, colds, etc. If your child has a fever, diarrhea, or is vomit-ing, please keep them home from class. We ask that your child be symptom free for at least 24 hours before return-ing. If your child experiences any of these symptoms while in class, you will be called to come pick them up. We realize some children do not want to miss the program (this makes us very happy) but when ill, their place is at home. If it is their Show and Tell Day, they may bring it when they return to class.

Information Coming HomeRemember to check your child’s binder for information coming home from school. Information should be in the plastic sleeve found in the front of the white binder.Information is also listed in the newsletter which can be found going directly to the Joliet Park District website, emailed directly to you if we have your correct email and you have not click the unsubscribed for Joliet Park District.
