IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ!

It is Parent/Teacher Conference time for Grades 5K-4. Conferences will be held on Monday, November 19th, and Thursday, November 29th, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Sunrise Elementary School has gone paperless by scheduling parent/teacher conferences online. If you have not scheduled your child’s conferences, please click here to access the online conference scheduler or see the attached letter with instructions on how to sign-up. The deadline to sign up is November 12, after that you will be assigned a date and

time.

Please note: Students will be released at 2:00 pm on conference

days. Unlike other Friday 2:00 pm release days, childcare is not

available unless your child is enrolled in the YMCA after school

program.

VETERAN’S DAY PROGRAM

The Sunrise Veteran's Day Program is scheduled for this Friday, November 9th at 1:00 PM in the gymnasium. You will be able to enter the building through the east entrance by the gym at 12:40 PM. For safety reasons, access to the building for the program will not be available until then. Please relay this

information to all of your guests that will be coming.

Weather Cancellations and Delays

Winter is right around the corner. If weather conditions dictate that there will be no school or a delayed start, a decision to keep the schools closed is usually made by 6:00 a.m. Parents with students in school receive a direct call, text and/or email from our auto-call system through Infinite Campus since that is the fastest way to communicate with thousands of parents at one time.

As a reminder: If you have a new phone number or email address, please update your information in the Infinite Campus parent portal or contact your school’s secretary to update the portal.

Announcements are also sent to local T.V. and radio stations, please tune to local stations such as these rather than call the school directly: WAPL-105.7FM, WIXX-101.1FM, WHBY-1150AM, WKFX-104.9FM, WEMI-91.9 FM, WTAQ-97.5FM/1360AM, WWWX-96.9FM and WGEE-93.5FM; and WBAY-TV2, WFRV-TV5, WGBA-TV26, and WLUK-FOX11. If other school events, such as concerts or sporting events are also cancelled because of weather, they are typically communicated through these stations as well.

The District’s website and Facebook page are not our primary way to communicate school closures, so we ask parents to listen to the auto-call messages or tune in to the radio and T.V. stations listed for the timeliest updates.

Catalogs from Square One Art came home last week.. All

orders are due tomorrow, November 8th. The keepsakes

make great gifts that last forever with your child’s artwork

on them.

Dear Kimberly Area School District Families,

We are committed to promoting the social and emotional well-being of our students. By working together with United Way’s PATH (Providing Access to Healing) for Students, we are now able to provide the opportunity for school-based counseling services to students in 5-year-old kindergarten through 12th grade. New for this year - services have been expanded to be available to students younger than seventh grade. We believe this will fill an important need for some students and families.

The United Way’s PATH for Students is a partnership between United Way Fox Cities, Catalpa Health, Family Services of Northeast WI, Inc., Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, and the Kimberly Area School District. The purpose of this collaborative partnership is to offer mental health outreach and treatment services to the students in our schools.

Counseling is an excellent way to learn new skills, develop self-confidence, become more aware of others’ views and experiences, practice new behaviors, and better understand how to deal with the problems life presents.

It is our belief that the combined commitment and expertise of our respective agencies, the knowledge and services provided to youth throughout Northeast Wisconsin, the credentialing of our programs, and the strong history of quality outcomes will allow for improved access to quality mental health services for students and families in our District.

If you are a parent and think your child may benefit, or if you are a student and feel you may benefit from counseling, you are invited to contact your school counselor for further screening.
