Determine Lens Opening forBounce Lighting: (Manual)

1. Measure the distance between your3075G and subject. And get thef/stop number from your exposurecalculator scale. (Example: f /8 at3 .8m1 12 ' w i th ASAIq) /D lN21. Seepage 24.)

2. Add two f/stops to the lens opening.(Example : 119+ t l4 l Then take youpictu re !

NOTE: l t is strongly recommended to useelectronic f lash meter to measure a correctexposure, since bounce surfaces havedifferent ref lect ion rat io. l f f lash meter isnot used, step exposures is also good idea.

For Better Bounce FlashPictures

Don't Stand Too Glose to YourSubiect.

1. Reason: The light will be refleced

downward at an angle so acuto that no

l ight (or very l i t t le l ight ) can reach your

subject 's face. This wi l l cause unpleasant

looking dark (shadow) areas under the

subject's nose and eyes.

2. Rotate tho fl6h sufficiently to prerrent the

subject or the background immediately

behind the subject f rom receiv ing any

por t ion of d i rect l ight f rom the f lash.

3. Remember that you can bounco light off

the wall if the cailing is too high. In many

homes, a whi te wal l makes an excel lent

reflective surface for bounce flash . . . and,

qui te of ten, more l ight can reach the

subject s ince the l ight does not have to

travel as far.

bounce sur face. . . poss ib ly you can use an

ord inary p iece of whi te cardboard held or

taped in f ront of the f lashtube housing so

that i t re f lects the l ight onto the subject .

In close-up photography, many excellent

l ight ing ef fects can be achieved by us ing

one or more p ieces of whi te cardboard as

ref lect ive sur faces in bounce f lash. The

sof t , d i f fused ef fect o f "bounce" l ight

For extensive use in portrait and child

photography, many photographers prefer

"umbrel la" l ight ing, created by bouncing

the f lash of f a whi te or s i lvered umbrel la .
