BRIDGET PARISH Roman Catholic Church Route 9 East Framingham Centre, Massachusetts (508) 875-5959 Tradition Tradition is long human memory set, not in stone, but in human interaction. Without this active memory, the bonds of relationship and affection fray and fall apart. Communities dissolve as surely as neglected buildings do. After participating in events, celebrations, and even small rituals, we remark about how good it is to gather and remember. Today’s readings remind us of foundations laid deeper than the human will to relate. Today we hear about God’s will to relate to us—to be our God as we are called to be God’s own beloved people. Today in three readings and three ways we remember the covenant bonds that create us as a people and the obligation and responsibility that express the innermost attitude of soul. You are mine. I am yours. These are God’s words that created a people as surely as “Let there be light” created the sun and moon and all the stars.

A True Act of Christian Kindness Needed

The school is accepting a new family, for the 2015-16 academic year, with a very unique and confidential situation. The children NEED to be in our caring, safe, nurturing, loving, comforting, Christian environment, and I am asking for your help. To quote the school’s Mission Statement: “Saint Bridget School partners with families and our church to develop the whole person within a community of faith.” If you are able to help in any way, please send your tax-deductible donation for the family via the St. Bridget Help-A-Student Fund to the attention of Mrs. Sebastian in the tuition office at the rectory. Tuition is approximately $5,000.00 per student and they have more than one child. With God’s Choicest Blessings for this family, Msgr. Strahan

A Successful Blood Drive Thank You!!!

A big thank you goes out to everyone who made the Blood Drive a success!!!

We had over 40 donors consisting of family, friends and a majority of St. Bridget parishioners coming through as usual. A note from DFCI/BWH: “Please express our sincere appreciation to everyone at St. Bridget Parish who supported the drive and to those who donated. The summer season is a challenge for hospitals to collect blood due to so many donors away on vacation and unavailable to donate, but our patients’ needs remain the same. Saturday’s drive was very helpful in our attempts to maintain the blood bank’s inventory at optimal levels. We are grateful for this support.” On behalf of all our patients and their loved ones at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, thank you all so much! And an extra special thank you to All from The Sebastian Family. (Hopefully, we can do it again later in the year.)

34th Annual Lawn Party to benefit seminarians

Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston is hosting its 34th Annual Lawn Party on Wednesday, September 16th, at 6:00 P.M, on the grounds of the seminary. Located on Route 30 in Weston, the seminary prepares second career candidates, men over the age of 30, for priesthood. The proceeds from the Lawn Party help to keep tuition costs affordable. For ticket information, please call the Pope St. John XXIII Development Office at 781-899-5500, or visit their website www.psjs.edu.
