From Fr. Davy’s Desk:
This Sunday is the Feast of Divine Mercy. The Catholic Church has been celebrat-
ing this feast since April 30th, 2000. This devotion to Jesus is based on the writings
of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her
spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she
received about God's mercy. Even before her death in 1938, the devotion to The
Divine Mercy had begun to spread.
Divine Mercy Chaplet is a powerful prayer. I remember the incident that happened
while I was in Kenya. On a Wednesday before the Divine Mercy feast at midnight
a convent in Kenya was broken into. When the nuns heard the thieves breaking the
windows, they all ran to the chapel and started praying the Divine Mercy chaplet
with their hands raised up. The thieves broke in and found the Nuns praying the
Divine Mercy Chaplet. They stopped them and asked for money, cell phones and a
few electronic items. They gave everything. The thieves left without harming
them. The nuns returned to the chapel and continued praying. The same thieves
broke into a neighbor’s house and raped a woman the same night. The nuns told
me the following day that they are alive only because of the power of “divine
mercy.” Praise the Lord!
The message of The Divine Mercy is simple. God loves all of us. He wants us to
recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him
with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will
come to share His joy. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a very powerful prayer. Please
pray this every day. We are praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet every Sunday at
9:15 AM. This Sunday we will solemnly pray it at 3 PM with the Holy Eucharistic
Adoration. All are welcome! Let us learn to trust in Jesus and live our life as mer-
ciful to others, as Christ is merciful to us.

había comenzado a extenderse.
to en Kenia.
venidos!
