Maker Boot Camp: LEGO Mindstorms Tower DefenseLooking for a creative challenge? Come by our Maker Boot Camp. The theme of this boot camp is LEGO Mindstorms and tower building using cardboard and other materials. This is a 5 week series. *Registration Required. Ages 9 to 12.

Minecraft ClubMeet up with other Minecraft fans to play your favourite game! Show off your skills and learn new tricks through different activities like designing the coolest fortress in creative mode, playing capture the flag, battling in tournaments or just hanging out and playing. Reading BuddiesDo you love to read? Do you want to have fun, make new friends and practice your reading skills? Reading Buddies is a program that matches teen mentors with kids in Grades 2–4 . Through interactive games and activities, buddies share their enthusiasm for reading. If your child is in Grades 2–4, please register for a spot in the program or contact your local branch for more information. Sing, Sign, Laugh and LearnYou and your child from birth to age three are invited to join us for singing, rhyming and signing! In this inclusive class, offered in collabo-ration with the Edmonton Early Intervention Program, parents/caregiv-ers will interact one-on-one with their child while learning strategies to engage their child and enhance their child’s communication and development through repetition, visuals and movement. Siblings are welcome. Ages birth to 3.

Interested in attending with a group of children? Please contact the branch about early literacy classes more suited to groups.

Sounds Like Fun: Getting Ready to ReadCome for stories, songs, movement and a variety of fun activities. This is an inclusive class for children aged 4 and 5 accompanied by an adult. Adults will actively participate and learn ideas to help their child get ready to read. This event is offered in collaboration with AHS Speech and Language Services. Ages 4 to 5.

Using cardstock and paper, you’ll be introduced to using the Cricut cutting machine and creating basic designs. This class is a chance for participants to design and cut their first piece of art!

Decal Design - In this introductory class, learn the process for making single colour custom vinyl decal to decorate your laptop or notebook. You’ll learn the basics of creating designs for vinyl cutting, how to use the library’s Cricut Maker, and how to get your cutout ready for application. This class is a chance for participants to design and cut their first decal!

Flower Extravaganza - Come liven up your space with beautiful flower art, 3D flower bouquets, and flowery home décor that doesn’t require watering and will never die!
