MANNA DAY - A Child in Our Hands - Rev. Linda Ashfield is a minister at Knox Presbyterian, Waterloo. She will be the feature speaker for a Manna Day happening at Crieff Hills Retreat and Conference Centre (near Guelph) from 10:30 to 3 PM on Thursday, May 15. The theme of the day is “A Child in Our Hands”. How do we pass on our Christian faith from generation to generation? Whether a parent, grandparent, relative, friend or congregational member, God has placed a child in our hands. The cost is $20 which includes lunch. It is important to register in advance. Brochures are available in the narthex. If you are interested, please speak with Mark Gedcke.
BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN - On Mother’s Day the Stratford House of Blessing kicks off their Baby Bottle Campaign. Knox is once again inviting you to participate. Proceeds will support the Family Care Centre, specifically free pregnancy tests, maternity clothes, baby clothes, baby furniture, new baby layettes and baby food. You can pick up a bottle or envelope in the Narthex and return it with your donation on Father’s Day, June 15th. Thank you for helping to give new families a healthy start.
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER - Next Sunday, Jessica Barton will share about her trip to the Dominican Republic that happened December 7-14 2012. She will make a presentation in the first part of the worship service. The goal of the trip was to discover the realities of the life of people in a developing nation. Jessica had opportunity to see how people lived by living with a local family in Consuelo. She also got to visit a number of schools and interact with the children there. “This trip made me realize how lucky we are and how we are sometimes too caught up in life and don't notice the little things in life that we take for granted.”

YOUTH GROUP - On Saturday, May 31st, the youth group is going hiking and geocaching at Wildwood Conservation Area. We meet at the church at 10 AM. Then, we will travel to Wildwood where we will be met by our fantastic guides / hosts / youth leaders, Shannon and Wendell Archer. Our geocaching will be an amazing race as we seek out clues and search for a treasure. Healthy snacks will be provided. Please bring water bottles and wear clothing suitable for hiking. Early in the afternoon, we will finish with a barbecue hosted by the Archers. Please let us know if you are coming and if there are any dietary restrictions for the barbecue. There will be a permission form to be signed by parents for this event.
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
