SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Entrance Antiphon [Cf. Ps 68 (67):6–7, 36]
God is in his holy place, God who unites those who dwell in his house; he himself gives might and strength to his people.
First Reading 1 Kings 3:5, 7–12 Psalm Psalm 119:57, 72, 76–77, 127–130 R. Lord, I love your commands. Second Reading Romans 8:28–30 Gospel Matthew 13:44–52 or Matthew 13:44–46 Prayer of the Faithful: Diocesan Healing Prayer
O MERCIFUL FATHER, Your Son in Love stretched out his hands upon the cross to embrace us. Embrace and heal our brothers and sisters who carry the wounds of abuse inflicted upon them. Heal Your Church broken by this betrayal of trust. Cleanse and sanctify Your Clergy that they may radiate the selfless love of Your Son. And strengthen and call the people of the Church throughout Western New York to a new dawn of hope and grace in your Holy Spirit. We ask this through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
Communion Antiphon [Ps 103 (102):2]
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all his benefits.
Or: [Mt 5:7–8] Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God.
St. Michael the Archangel Prayer
V. Saint Michael the Archangel, R. defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayer of Spiritual Communion (LIVE STREAMING
MASSES ONLY)
My Jesus, I believe that you are
present in the most Blessed
Sacrament. I love You above all
things and I desire to receive
You into my soul. Since I cannot now
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there,
and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be
separated from You. Amen.
