CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE 2020 GRADUATES OF OUR DEER PARK FAMILIES! Sunday morning it was Kathie Browning’s privilege to honor the 2020 College & High School graduates from our Deer Park Family. Although the graduation ceremonies did not happen as planned it certainly does not diminish the hard work and efforts of our graduates and they deserve to be celebrated.
Elise Adamopoulos graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. This is Elise’s 2nd Bachelor’s Degree. She is working and studying for a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University in Palo Alto, California. Elise is the granddaughter of Ruth & Gene Myers and good friend of Ruth Horner.
Kara Adamopoulos graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science. Kara will pursue her 2nd Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Her course of study is a major in illustration and a minor in biological illustration. Kara would like to find a job needing biological illustrations. Kara is the granddaughter of Ruth & Gene Myers and good friend of Ruth Horner.
Grant Michael Sturm graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor's Degree. Grant was a yearly member of Salisbury Dean's List. In the past he was on the South Carroll high school cross country team and a member of the South Carroll Fellows Christian Athlete group. He was a volunteer counselor at Hashawha outdoor school and also volunteered with the Maryland Department of the Environment and Sun Valley assisted living in Westminster. Grant helped for several years at his church with the annual strawberry festival at the Sykesville Volunteer Fire Dept. While at Salisbury he did 2 internships related to mediation work and crisis and conflict resolutions. Grant is the grandson of Janet & Harry Wallett.
Jessica Rene Kinser graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a Bachelor’s Degree. Jessica has been working at Random House since 2016 right after she graduated from High School. She plans to continue working for Random House in the office and on September 12 will marry Chris Pfeiffer. Jessica is the granddaughter of Bev Kinser.
Jacob Ronald Schucker graduated from C. Milton Wright High School in Bel Air, MD. Jacob grew up in cub scouts & boy scouts. He participated in many service projects throughout his tenure in these organizations including food drives, car washes to fundraise, road clean-up events, flower sales and many more. Jacob also demonstrated his leadership ability by actively holding leadership positions within the scouts and mentoring younger scouts (including his brother). The Schucker Family assisted with many service organizations during the time Jacob was homeschooled including Mountain Christian Church Food Giveaway every Friday, the Susquehanna Heritage Society Stream clean-up, and the local Baptist Church’s Care Night Meals for homeless and underprivileged in the area. Jacob will attend Harford Community College in the fall while working at a local restaurant where he has worked for 2 years. He plans to achieve his AA degree and transfer to Towson University to pursue his Bachelor’s degree. Jacob is the grandson of Stella & Lance Konze.
Lauren Grace Gouge graduated from High Point Academy High School in Spartanburg, SC. Lauren is active in her church, she goes on annual Kentucky Missions Trips, is on the Praise Team and the Worship Choir. She is on the National Honor Society, Senior Beta Club, School Leadership and holds GPA Honors. She will begin college this fall at North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC in Secondary Education and monitoring in Youth Ministry. Lauren will continue to volunteer at Hope Remains Youth Ranch an Equestrian Therapy Ranch for Youth and Children and work part-time at Chick-fil-A. Lauren is the niece of Gary & Cindy Saylor.

VBS 2020 CANCELLED – Our VBS this year was to be June 22-26. Unfortunately, this will not be happening due to COVID-19. Everyone be safe and stay well! Any questions, contact Kathie Browning.

Hayley Ruddick graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School. She was on the Track and Field Team, Make Everyday Count Club, Cross Country Team, Robotics Team, Math National Honors Society, the Math Team and the National Honors Society. She will attend Arizona State University studying Chemical and Materials Science & Engineering. Hayley hopes to return to work soon at Modell's Sporting Goods. Hayley is the niece of Gary & Kathie Browning.
Landyn Bien graduated from Manchester Valley High School. Landyn played lacrosse, soccer and tennis and attends Life Point Church. She also attended Carroll Community College taking 2 courses for Nursing. During her last year in high school she worked for Long View Nursing Center in Manchester. Landyn plans to continue to attend college to further her career in Nursing. Landyn is the granddaughter of Gary Hammett.
Thomas Eugene Chenoweth graduated from Manchester Valley High School. Thomas played football and wrestled for Manchester Valley. He won Carroll County Championship, 1st Place in his weight class and also won 3rd place in his weight class for Maryland State Wrestling. He attends Lutheran Church in Manchester, MD. Thomas has been accepted to McDaniel College with a Wrestling Scholarship and wants to become a Sports Announcer. Thomas is the grandson of Gary Hammett.
Morgan Faith Kelly graduated from Westminster High School and from Carroll County Career & Technology Center. Mor-gan's activities include Theater, Thespian Society and Cosmetology. She is a talented artist, especially cartooning. She attended Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at Deer Park for many years. She will be working at Flourish Beauty Studio as a stylist. Morgan is the granddaughter of Wilma & Bill Welling.
Helena Snyder graduated from Westminster High School. She was the Vice President of Westminster High School Book Club, a flutist with Westminster High School Wind Ensemble, a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, a Cross Country Runner, participated in Winter Indoor Track & Field and Spring Track & Field. She currently works at Texas Roadhouse in various positions. She plans to attend Widener University in Chester, PA where she has earned a seat in their Doctor of Physical Therapy program, a seven year program. Helena is Faye Snyder’s granddaughter and Brian & Cody Snyder's daughter.
Karli Beth Wallett graduated from Westminster High School. Karli was a member of the Social Studies Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, 2020 spirit leaders and a key club member. She was a Varsity Cheerleader and participated in state competitions. Karli was a history tutor, kennel volunteer and volunteer counselor at Hashawha Outdoor School. Karli will attend the University of MD College Park with aspirations of attending dental school and becoming an orthodontist. Karli is the granddaughter of Janet & Harry Wallett.
Mercedes Baker graduated from Carroll County Career & Technology Center in Print Production. She was in the FPC Youth Group, Westminster High School Ski club, St John's Rec Basketball, Deer Park VBS Volunteer and the Carroll County Career & Tech Center - Honor Society. She will attend her Senior Year at Westminster and attend Carroll Community College at the same time. Sadie is the daughter of Nancy & Richard Baker and made our signs for us today.
