Data is never cached
No hard disk or addressable flash memory
No intellectual property risk if a client is lost or stolen
No local operating system, no client virus issues
No local data (corporate,

Security
Security is a fundamental design point for the Sun Ray Architecture.
1) No local data stored on the client, this includes any caching of content in a Citrix ICA client, web browser or media player application that may be running locally on other kinds of thin clients. This makes our architecture unique from a security perspective. Additionally, control to mass storage devices can be turned on or off centrally by the System Administrator with Sun Ray Software. This can further enhance the security of a Sun Ray client deployment.
2) With no local operating system and no local applications, the Sun Ray client device is virtually immune to client side malware (virus, spyware, worm, trojan horse) attacks. With less than 300KB of firmware not much can be compromised.
3) With the use of third party middleware, customers can leverage the smart card slot on every Sun Ray client to do two-factor authentication via smart cards to Solaris or to Windows applicaitons.
