◦At-Sea/Underway time (May 10- June 22/June 24-Aug 07)

The 2010 training cruise is formatted differently to enhance training All First Class Cadets will be onboard for the complete training

period, and will have increased watch time, better preparation for the license exam, and increased opportunities for leadership/development

All underclass will do either the first or the second training period, and will change out in the port of Dublin via charter carrier

This results in less underclass onboard for either cruise period, and allows for more training in all three areas – lecture, watch standing and practical M&R. It also results in less crowding in the berthing areas, and mess deck

◦ Objective: Shipboard training while accruing required

sea-time for USCG licensure. STCW Safety Training in Firefighting/Sea survival Anchoring handling/ vessel maneuvering operations Bunkering off Gibraltar Extensive piloting – Azores, Straits of Messina, Bonifacio
