Check your roof from the ground. Binoculars come in handy here, be on the lookout for cracked/loose tiles or mold.

Check your eaves and overhangs. Water staining on them could be a sign of holes in your roof.

Block all places where small creatures could invade.

Clean around skylights – debris and water could pool up on the top of a skylight and cause real problems if it isn't cleaned regularly.

Clean your gutters – bird nests, debris, anything could accumulate after a storm!

Check your gutters stability – Unstable gutters don’t do their job right, leading to potential foundation damage.

Check your attic – the roof isn’t always the culprit when it comes to problems, your attic could have mold or an animal could have made a home.

Check all items that protrude from your roof – Chimneys, skylights, and plumbing vents need to be checked to ensure their seals are intact.

Be aware of Mold – Mold damage happens quickly and can be a real hassle if not addressed quickly.

Take photos every time you get on your roof and compare with previous photos – this will help you keep note of changes and help you address problems easier!
