Facts about Yellowstone• Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in
the world and covers 3,470 square miles mostly in the northwest corner of Wyoming.
• It is located in the states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
• The park is famous for its various geysers, hot springs, and other geothermal features
• A wide variety of animals such as elk, deer, bison, wolves, black and grizzly bears live in the park
This photo was taken in Yellowstone National Park near the Old Faithful Geyser in June of 1999, eleven years after the fires. Burned out trees remain standing, although
new trees are rising to take their place.
