Rachel and Matthew… “We have loved each other for a long time.”
Where and how did he propose? Our birthdays are a week apart so we celebrate with a large family birthday party. Just after we blew out the candles, someone asked me what I had wished for. I responded with “I think you all know” (we had been dating for 5 years). Just as I said that, Matt touched me on the shoulder and said, “Rachel, we have loved each other for a long time. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” It was the best birthday present ever!
Your colors were beautiful. How
did you choose them?I asked Matt to choose his favorite color and he chose blue. I knew I wanted a bright, vibrant wedding so I thought that beautiful fl owers in all shades of orange would really POP.

Something old?My MeMe ( my grandmother) had an opal ring that she wanted to give me. We had it totally restored and I was proud to wear it on my wedding day.
Something new?My dress.
Something borrowed? My maid of honor loaned me a diamond stud earring.
Something blue?My shoes. For a keepsake, all the girls signed the bottom of one shoe and all the groomsmen signed the other.
Tell us about your lovely wedding
gown, please. On a whim, when passing through Dallas, my girlfriend Emily and I stopped at little bridal boutique we spotted. We thought it would be fun to see what they had, not expecting to actually fi nd The Dress. It’s a strapless Pronovias gown that is very fi tted, fl aring at the knee. It opens at the knee in a v shape, allowing my shoes to be seen. The bodice is embellished with beading and lace, then fl ares out in ruffl es at the bottom. I fell in love with it immediately!
Was there anything uniquely
yours (or Matts) in the wedding?Matt built the arbor that we stood under during the ceremony at the Boathouse. We decorated it with beautiful fl owers and it was so lovely with the river behind it. We toasted each other with Waterford crystal toasting fl utes which were engraved with our names and wedding date.

Why did you choose the Boathouse? This venue allowed us to do both the ceremony and reception at the same location and this was very important to me. It gave us the option to have an outside ceremony and that was a must for me. It is such an awesome location - the building is spectacular, it is beside the Oklahoma River and downtown Oklahoma City is the backdrop.
You had a candy bar! Tell us about it.Matt loves candy! We had an assortment of Matt’s favorite candies - almost anything sour and gummy- so I ordered 11 different candies for him in shades of blue and orange.
What were your bridesmaid gifts?I purchased black and white damask bags and had the girls names embroidered on them. Inside the bags were V-necked fi tted t-shirts that said “Bridesmaid” or “Maid of Honor” along with a candle, their jewelry, shoes for the wedding and a picture frame.
Any special memories you care
to share?Matt and I wrote letters to each other to read on the morning we were getting married. I will treasure these always. Also… we will never forget the 60+ mph wind storm that came through right before the ceremony! Fortunately, it ended in just a few minutes.
Looks we Love… Beaded jewelry, the cake that incorporated the architecture of the boathouse, breathtaking scenery, bouquets with striking, vibrant colors.
Christina wanted light and springy
colors for her wedding and chose a soft
golden yellow complemented by turquoise
blue accents. These lovely colors accented
the table decorations, embellished the
cake, arbor and hanging fl owers in the
wonderful outdoor wedding near Luther,
OK. The tall trees and beautiful scenery
of the vineyard provided the perfect
backdrop as they exchanged vows.

Christina and Casey…A perfect spring vineyard wedding
how sweet…
Christina and Casey love Converse
Chuck Taylors and have been wearing
them for many years. What better than
to incorporate them into the wedding?
Christina’s white pair was embroidered
with Mrs. Hennan and Casey’s black pair
with Mr. Hennan. So comfortable, too!
Christina was a beautiful bride in her
soft white strapless gown accented with a
bow that was enhanced with rhinestones.
One of her bridesmaids helped Christina
make her delicate birdcage veil to
complete her attire. She carried a
gorgeous bouquet of yellow cabbage
roses, ranunculus and delphinium. Casey’s
and the groomsmen’s bouts were simply
golden billy balls.
