adventures. Teens visited colleges and organized a "Peace Walk" with officers from the Waukegan Police Department. Club members enjoyed interacting with volunteers and are grateful to all Club supporters and sponsors. For the past two years and in 2017, our summer program has been generously underwritten by PotashCorp. This outstanding commitment has ensured that the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County can provide a safe, positive environment for our Club kids during the summer. Together with PotashCorp, we are helping our community’s youth become responsible, caring, productive individuals.
Together, we can empower our youth to achieve success and put them on the path to a great future.

ITW & Dreaming Tree Project
Teens Learn about Videography and
Film Making Careers
Every year, ITW gives Club teens the opportunity to help film and produce ITW’s United Way corporate video. Club Teens attended a week-long program which taught them technical skills in camera operation, interviewing techniques, sound engineering and production coordination, while gaining life-skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, project management and perseverance. The video produced with Dreaming Tree, ITW David Speer Academy and the Club will be shown to thousands of ITW employees worldwide.

Thank you to our ITW volunteers for giving time to the Boys & Girls Club in support of our golf event. This donation of time helped the Club host a wonderful day for all participants. You truly made a difference!!!
STEM Learning at the Club AbbVie SEEK (Science Engineering
Exploration Knowledge)
Project SEEK is a STEM based program from the AbbVie Foundation which provides under-resourced students the opportunity to learn more about basic scientific principles and introduce them to science careers.
Club youth had a great time working side by side with
AbbVie interns while learning scientific processes. Youth received STEM programming while performing experiments, analyzing data and building
models.
Discover Field Trip
Rated "Best Ever!" by Club Teens
Thank you Discover for giving our teens a day they will not forget! There were many comments on the ride back and all the next day about how much they enjoyed and learned from the visit. In particular, the attention from Discover associates, sharing experiences about the workplace, careers and education. As many had never seen a corporate campus, they were very impressed by Discover's offices, board room and executive suites. They visited with a gentleman who was a former Club kid and were impressed by his achievements. He encouraged them to keep working hard to achieve their goals and they too could work in a place like Discover one day. The BBQ pizza lunch was one more reason it was deemed one of the best field trips of the summer!

Our Club Garden
We Watched it Grow!
With the help of our 4H partner, Club youth planted and
harvested vegetables from the Club's garden. They learned how to make simple recipes using the food
they grew!
